This is a great opportunity to sharpen your sales skills while working for a global company in the heart of Manhattan! 

Our New York office is conveniently located across the street from Grand Central station.  The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter, have at least 2 years of sales experience and be available through October 2019.

 

Mission:

Reed MIDEM is seeking an enthusiastic sales professional to complete a mission through October 2019 to drive attendance at two of the most important trade events of the television industry:  MIPCOM (Cannes, France), and MIP CANCUN (Mexico).  

 

Through outreach to producers, content creators, distributors, broadcasters and platforms from North and Latin America, you will find and recruit prospective delegates and will be responsible for renewing past visitors.   You will deliver sales to meet defined targets, using multiple channels: social media, email and phone campaigns as well as in-person meetings. Travel may be required during the mission, including representing the company at industry events.

 

This exciting assignment is ideal for a dynamic professional looking to expand their sales experience in the television and event industries. In addition to relevant experience, candidates should have a keen interest in the business side of the television industry as well as a global mindset. Bilingual English/Spanish highly desired but not required.

 

Primary Tasks:

  • Fulfill multi-channel sales campaigns (including email, phone and in-person outreach), renewing past visitors as well as qualifying and recruiting new participants from throughout the Americas

  • Research and organize lead information as directed by department director

  • Establish and maintain a well-organized database of qualified new leads using various channels, tools and platforms, including social media, press outlets and competitive events

  • Liaise with colleagues at Paris headquarters to stay informed regarding the latest information on our events and client communications

  • Monitor industry newsletters and track opportunities

  • Identify upselling opportunities for advertising, sponsorships etc.

  • Note trends observed in client responses and bring them to the attention of the department director.

 

 

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of sales experience

  • Spanish/English bilingual highly-desired, with excellent writing and grammar skills in both languages

  • High level of initiative; takes accountability for role on projects

  • Experience and comfort working/operating in an international environment

  • Social media and online research savvy

  • E-Marketing skills and/or professional experience

  • Knowledge or keen interest in the television industry and/or event industry

  • Available and willing to travel as needed

  • Working knowledge of Salesforce highly appreciated
