This Data Scientist position exists to conduct statistical analysis and build predictive models for a variety of performance outcomes such as risk, fraud, and collections for one or more markets including (but not limited to) insurance, credit, telecommunication, retail, and government. The incumbent will have experience in data mining, statistical methods, machine learning, predictive analytics and multiple modeling scoring techniques

 

The Data Scientist will design and develop analytic enterprise and cloud software data models using a variety of languages and platforms to support integration and deployment of data analytics products and solutions.

1.       Will utilize large data structures for data preparation, pattern recognition and analytic solution development

2.       Will analyze and mine large data sets to assess patterns and insights using the multiple analytic stacks such as R, Python, SAS, SQL or similar software package.

3.       Fraud industry knowledge a plus

4.       Will work with Big Data Technologies and apply large scale Machine Learning techniques within many technologies ie: algorithms, GBM, Gradient Boosting Machine, ML, machine learning, data analytics, statistical analysis, data modeling, fraud analytics or similar technologies

5.       Will build predictive models using Analytic tools, data mining statistical analysis methodologies and potentially Tableau, R, SQL, SAS, Python or similar software package.

 

Accountabilities:

1. Develop scoring models and statistical analysis; provide code to customers or internal contacts to validate accuracy of production scoring code.

2. Interpret business plays to recommend (and execute) an analytic plan to supervisor and/or client.

3 Follow modeling best practices and provide feedback on ways to enhance current practices.

4. Provide technical support and be a resource to internal and external modelers.

5. Build statistical models and complete various analytic projects for a variety of applications including risk, fraud, collections in insurance, credit, telecom, collections, and government verticals. These projects will support internal development projects as well as client sponsored projects.

6. Conduct analysis and performance reports in support of existing and new customer sales.

7. Summarize and communicate conclusions and solutions to analytic and non-analytic stakeholders.

8. Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics or quantitative methods (or equivalent years’ experience). Master's Degree preferred.

1. 3-5+ years demonstrated applied modeling and analytics experience in applicable industry.

2. Strong understanding of statistical methods applied to data analysis

3. User of Python, Tableau, SQL, SAS, SPSS, R or equivalent analytic software

4. Understanding of various statistical methodologies including linear regression, logistic regression, and other advanced analytic techniques.

5. Fluency with Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

6. Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to describe statistical results to non-statistical audiences

7. Experience processing large data sets

8. Hands-on Experience matching and merging multiple data sets
