This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead a portfolio of products that enable life science researchers and pharmaceutical companies to improve the way they identify and analyses drug safety data and minimize risk, informing high-value decisions from preclinical drug development through to post-market. We seek a strategic-thinking self-starter who will be responsible for value proposition, messaging, and go-to-market planning & execution for this critical area of drug development.

 

The Senior Solution Marketing Manager will lead a team that works with key stakeholders across the business, in addition to our customers and industry.

 

He/She will drive go-to-market strategies and will develop and communicate a value based, data driven story to end-users and decision makers in our Pharma & Life Sciences market. 

 

This role is based in Amsterdam and reports to the Director, Life Science Solutions Marketing

 

Your responsibilities


Drug Safety and Pharmacovigilance (PV) Proposition Development

  • Develop value messaging describing how Elsevier solutions address customer needs for specific personas in relevant target segments including preclinical and clinical drug development, drug safety and the literature management and risk mitigation portions of the PV cycle
  • Become an expert in the buying process and buyer personas and synthesize this intelligence for use in marketing and sales training/enablement materials
  • Define the content for key market-facing communication, including sales enablement tools
  • Deliver user success stories and case studies that demonstrate the impact of the product(s) on business outcomes
  • Provide additional value for customers by feeding actionable insights into product roadmaps and working with product teams to validate new solutions or capabilities with the market
 
Go to Market Planning & Execution
  • Define clear marketing objectives in line with growth objectives and opportunity
  • Define Go to Market plans and strategies to support the product roadmap and marketing objectives e.g. high renewal rates, cross-sales into penetrated customer sets and new sales.
  • Provide messaging and content for creation of market facing collateral
  • Manage product marketing budget allocation and ensure optimal use of marketing budgets.
  • Develop marketing briefs and work with Integrated Marketing teams to execute on the Go to Market plans through marketing programs and channel specific tactics
  • Develop sales enablement and training materials and tools
 
Employee management, development and engagement  
  • Ensure development and utilisation of employees’ skills and capabilities by assigning stretch KPOs, providing regular coaching and feedback and holding meaningful career development discussions
  • Create a development plan to understand and work towards interests and future goals 
  • Set individual goals to develop these areas and look for training and educational opportunities
 

What you should bring

  • Education at Masters level or above in life Sciences
  • Researcher background in life sciences (Biomedical research, Epidemiology Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics) or the product marketing of life science solutions is preferred
  • 5-7+ years’ experience in product marketing or strategic marketing (B2B software marketing, publishing or software industry experience)
  • Strong communication skills, comfortable working in a matrix environment
  • Expert knowledge of ‘go-to-market’ plans and strategies to define clear marketing objectives
  • Experienced in communicating value propositions of products to the sales team and developing the sales tools that support the selling process of the products
  • Experienced in developing copy and content for creation of marketing collateral
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills to interact at all levels within the organization and beyond
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Fluent in English
  • This role requires 10-15% travelling
