Reed Travel Exhibitions is seeking to recruit an experienced and highly motivated Sales Manager to drive new business and manage key accounts for ibtm world, which takes place annually in November in Barcelona . IBTM World is a leading 3 day event for the global meetings, incentives, conferences and events industry. IBTM World  connects diverse MICE suppliers with highly qualified meetings and event planners

 

The role will be based in Richmond, London and will involve regular travel in order to present business solutions in a face to face environment.


The Job

To meet predetermined revenue targets  via stand and sponsorship sales 

Retain and grow existing business through key account management.

Identify, research and successful close new business prospects and opportunities

Plan, develop and manage show floor plan areas.

Prepare and execute annual show specific sales plans

Collaborate across all disciplines (marketing, hosted buyers, operations, PR) to ensure market intelligence and analytical data data is shared in order to maximise on potential opportunities.

Comply with financial and database procedures and utilisation of the database to assist with account management.

Accurately report progress through sales reports and forecast revenue projections allowing the Head of Sales & Exhibition Director to budget accordingly.

Daily recording of sales activities through the Sales Tool – Salesforce.com, sales funnel management

Contribute to formulating new revenue and growth 


The Candidate

Reporting to the Head of Sales (based in London) the successful candidate will be expected to become recognised within the meetings industry and to be articulate about key industry issues.

Highly motivated sales professional is required 

Extensive sales experience developing and managing business from major accounts, ideally within the meetings, travel or hospitality industries.

First class written and oral communication skills, including presentation and report writing.  

A proven record of targeting and securing new business.

An ability to assimilate and practice key account management principles.

The willingness to undertake regular international travel, often unaccompanied.

The combination of being able to work under real pressure, using own initiative whilst being a team player.

A strong customer service philosophy

A flexible approach to working methods and hours of attendance.

Self motivated individual.
