The London Book Fair (LBF) is a leading exhibition for the publishing industry, based in the world’s creative capital, London. As well as the flagship event, the team organise a consumer-facing book and screen festival (London Book & Screen Week) and an exciting and varied programme of trade and consumer satellite events all over the world.

International Jewellery London (IJL) is in its 63rd year. This exciting, market-leading event is the UK’s most important platform for buyers and sellers within the Jewellery industry. 


Attracting over 550 exhibitors from over 38 countries and nearly 9,000 visitors, this event demands a focused team. The show takes place annually each September at Olympia

The IJL & LBF Portfolio is currently looking for a motivated and creative Project Executive to join its friendly and innovative team. We have a very exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic team player who is keen to gain experience at a world-leading event organiser, and develop their project coordination skills, across a portfolio of creative brand events. This is a diverse role providing excellent exposure to all areas of the events, covering a range of project coordination and exhibition delivery duties. 

The successful candidate will join the team to work on projects across International Jewellery London (IJL), which takes place 1-3 September 2019, and The London Book Fair (LBF), which takes place on 10-12 March 2020 at Olympia, London. 


Projects and Key responsibilities:

Association development - research & recruitment of new and existing associations

Diamond Club - coordination and delivery of the IJL 2019 buyer programme including programme set-up, registration, buyer recruitment/liaison and hotel agency coordination

Department for International Trade project coordination – support Senior Exhibition Director and Exhibition Director to secure DIT participation at IJL and LBF to include liaison with Reed Exhibitions’ International Sales Group and relevant stakeholders, development of the programme pre-show and onsite and detailed reporting

Content programme - research, support and delivery of onsite seminar/conference programmes

Sponsorship fulfilment and delivery – liaising with sponsors and internal teams 

Assisting the marketing team on projects including, but not limited to, networking events, awards ceremonies, and conferences

Updating content on show websites

Coordination of on-site activities; e.g. feature and seminar areas, hosted buyer lounges

Monitoring of competitor and trade associations’ activities

Input into event budget trackers – managing supplier payments, raising invoices and updating budget trackers specific to the projects being coordinated

Maintenance of specific spreadsheets and production of weekly/monthly reports as required

Working with the marketing and wider event team to deliver successful events

Additional ad hoc projects as required


Ideal candidate profile:
A highly driven and enthusiastic professional who can demonstrate:
Accuracy and attention to detail
Good organisational and project management skills, ability to multi task and prioritise
Creative flair 
Ability to take the initiative
A high level of computer literacy, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint. 
Friendly manner and ability to work in a fast-moving team environment across a range of projects
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to be able to communicate effectively with internal and external contacts
Some knowledge and experience with social media (personal or business)
Flexibility (event organising is not always 9 – 5 job)!
