We have an exciting opportunity to join team aerospace division. The suitable candidate will work on both Aircraft Interiors Expo events. Aircraft Interiors Expo Hamburg is the world’s leading event for airlines and the supply chain to source the latest innovations, technologies and products for the cabin interiors, inflight entertainment and passenger comfort industries. Aircraft Interiors Expo Autumn is the international annual autumn meeting place for the niche aircraft interiors market.  Highlighting the co-location with APEX and IFSA to actively promote the three events together in order to deliver the leading autumn passenger experience exhibition. 


A team player who is able to communicate effectively and present ideas with clarity, offering a creative edge or ability to think outside of the box, with a tenacious, pragmatic and analytical approach to measuring the success of marketing activities, and is familiar with agile marketing methodologies. Skilled at building rapport with key stakeholders, internally and externally, as well as potential and existing clients and suppliers is vital. Experience within exhibitions or a large organisation would be advantageous, as would knowledge or interest of the aviation sector.


The structure of the team allow the Marketing Manager to hone their skills at developing robust strategies that are aligned with the sales team targets and together support the overall show’s key objectives. Directly reporting to the Head of Marketing, the successful candidate will be expected to build industry, product and sector knowledge, really ‘getting under the skin’ of the show’s customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain a high level of sector specific knowledge – with aim to market and provide insights/copy direction for effective customer communications

Understand each event’s customer base, identify segments and develop segment strategies

Working closely with Event Leadership, and the Senior Marketing Network, providing input into the overall Event and Marketing strategies for an event or portfolio of events

Collaborating and communicating effectively with Marketing specialist and support teams; briefing, developing, overseeing, project managing and owning the delivery of a multi-channel on and offline marketing plan

Working with Marketing Customer insight team to evaluate customer research, market conditions, competitor data, customer feedback to develop a deep understanding of customers that will drive engaging marketing strategies, grow the event and improve customer satisfaction 

Acting as brand and industry champion, shaping value propositions, creating the on-site experience and feature areas and ensuring that all communications and customer experience complement the brand and enhance the customer journey

Leading the management of PR for a show or set of shows ensuring it integrates into the wider customer campaign

Managing the strategic use of partners to drive new and retained customers working with a team of specialist marketing colleagues to deliver the agreed plans and to monitor the effective use of these partners in delivering event objectives

Developing managing and analysing campaigns that drive net new and retained revenues for stand and non-stand products

Develop an annual marketing budget and deliver marketing activity on time and within budget

Use your creative ability to develop show initiatives, educational programmes and special events to enhance event content 

Work closely with the Sales team to ensure key objectives and initiatives are aligned, with clear lines of communications and providing the right level of support and direction 

Support the growth in digital and sponsorship opportunities and revenue through tactical multi-channel marketing campaigns

Proactively establish and maintain effective working team relationships internally and externally including industry partners, trade associations and our advisory panels - both locally and globally

Negotiate effective barter arrangements and partnerships with relevant national and international media/trade partners/associations

Main contact for coordinating and supporting promotional initiatives and strategy with PR agencies, key external partners and key associations

Effectively manage and regularly communicate promotional roadmap of activity for each show, ensuring consistency of communication and that relevant stakeholders are properly briefed on mechanics, desired outcome and timelines

Attend external events and meetings when required; building effective relationships with customers, partners and suppliers

Skilled at developing  on, offline and social media marketing strategies

An understanding of developing personas and the use of customer insights to create targeted campaigns

Adept at creating and planning segmented  and automated email campaigns with targeted messaging 

Solid database management skills – experience building/ growing and nurturing a quality database

Experience in digital marketing including mobile – understands the successful implementation and tactical uses of SEO, PPC, Google Ad words, digital banner ads and retargeting campaigns to help drive website traffic, engagement and lead generation

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills – able to communicate effectively with internal and external contacts and key stakeholders

Excellent proof-reading, editing and copy-writing skills: ability to devise and edit engaging content across all platforms and provide constructive feedback and direction where required

High degree of computer literacy – with advanced Excel skills and the ability to manipulate and work with data and formulas to assist with reporting

Ability to report and analyse campaign results, draw business conclusions and make recommendations

Demonstrable experience managing budgets 

Enjoys working in a fast-paced and busy environment

Ability and readiness to work in a matrix structure

Willingness to travel for business, when required

Experience in a publishing / event / exhibition background, ideally from a big organisation or with knowledge of the Aviation industry would be advantageous
