The Opportunity

We are seeking a passionate Market Research & Customer Insights Manager to join our team in this newly created role. The primary focus of this role is to identify key attendance drivers for our customers, including emerging market trends that could improve our customer experience. You will then analyse feedback and provide recommendations to our show teams to assist them in taking on a customer-focused mindset in improving the customer experience.

To be successful in this role, you will have strong research and written skills with the ability to visualise data to identify those key market trends. You will have a natural ability to tell a story whilst also thinking strategically and placing our customers at the forefront of any given research & analysis.  

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Lead and drive primary marketing research for customers in a number of areas, including needs, behaviour, customer journey and any other areas as necessary
  • Gain a deeper understanding of our visitor’s needs, attitudes and behaviours through face-to-face engagement
  • Create insight-led customer journey strategies to increase both acquisition and retention of visitors
  • Lead all phases of research projects, including assessing needs, designing research, conducting research ,developing insights and presenting recommendations
  • Participate and contribute to cross-functional initiatives, providing key insights and recommendations
  • Produce reports and industry white papers that position our events as a thought leader in the given industry

About you:

  • Prior experience leading market research and/or strategic marketing channels is required
  • B2B and retail experience is desired but not necessary
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a marketing or research qualification essential
  • Stakeholder Management, ability to influence and manage key stakeholders to Leadership Team level
  • Awareness and understanding of Australian Privacy Laws and the SPAM Act
  • Strong project management and organisational skills
