JOB SUMMARY:
The Agenda Festival is a consumer facing event specializing action sports, lifestyle and fashion alongside music, art, food, education and more.  The Event Manager will have direct responsibility for the profit and direct management of the show. Responsible for the strategic direction of assigned shows, developing new business opportunities within assigned industry groups, forging strong relationships between Reed Exhibitions and industry influencers, and creating show plans that bring about achievement of strategic and financial goals.  The shows to be managed will primarily include newly launched shows and therefore an entrepreneurial drive and willingness to perform a variety of roles is necessary. This position will require nurturing and growing of key association relationships that are critical for the success of the shows.
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintain high awareness of industry trends, climate, distribution, and issues.
  • Directly oversee sales, curation and customer experience of the show, and strategic planning and execution.
  • Direct sales goals for event; set targets for sales team, identify and pursue opportunities and partnerships.
  • Develop and implement campaigns for marketing strategy of exhibitor and attendee campaigns.
  • Develop conference direction and topics, themes, performers and speaker candidates.
  • Serve as primary contact for sponsors, industry consultants, etc.
  • Maintain high visibility within industry.
  • Develop new revenue driving opportunities with brand partners and sponsors.
  • Work cooperatively with cross-functional staff for the overall success of the show.

Education

College degree  

Knowledge, Skills, and Strengths

  • Knowledge of all aspects of trade shows management preferred, particularly sales, marketing and finance.
  • Knowledge of action sports and fashion industry.    
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.           
  • Ability to develop and analyze budget, marketing, and business plans. 
  • Must be able to handle multiple functions, multi-tasking.
  • Polished selling skills and good influencing skills required.
  • High energy level; positive outlook; resourcefulness.

Experience

Trade show experience preferred solid experience in some function of events required, e.g. sales, industry development, etc.
 

Travel

May be extensive at times
