ENGINEERING MANAGER – SOFTWARE DELIVERY
Location: Richmond, London, UK
Reports To: Director of Engineering

THE OPPORTUNITY
We are building matching services to connect Exhibitors and Buyers, through search recommendations and identifying new innovative approaches with connected data sources.
The engineering manager is responsible for all individual contributors involved in delivering software solutions for our matching services and overall technical delivery of the platform. Acting as a servant leader to highly motivated, collaborative, close-knit andenthusiastic cross-functional autonomous teams and collaborating with our offshore partners.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Experienced engineering manager, with line management experience, supporting individuals in cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Experience leading the technical delivery, with quality and architecture oversight, of several medium to large scale platforms built using micro-service back-ends.
  • Experience translating and implementing product and technical strategies into new process and practices.
  • Track record of hiring high performing engineers, supporting professional and skills competency development and coaching them to continuously realise their full potential.
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering business impacts and measuring the effectiveness of software delivery, software quality and operational excellence.
  • Demonstrable experience of building and leading a trusting and vibrant environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame or judgment, placing emphasis on problem solving and continuous improvement and learning.
  • A developer background with strong and deep knowledge of modern development practices with at least one or more programming languages such as c#, or Java.
  • Comprehensive understanding of XP, Scrum and/or Lean, DevOps & CALMS cultures.


ADVANTAGES

  • Management of remote, near/offshore or consultancy teams.
  • Knowledge of modern management theory frameworks, people operations, using 360 Peer Review, Sentiment Analysis techniques and technical training programmes.
  • Experience hosting workshops, coaching 5S, A3, 5 Whys, Kaizen and driving continuous improvements
  • Knowledgeable of Cloud (preferably AWS), IaC, Continuous Integration, Deployment and Testing patterns, Micro-services, serverless Patterns and constraints.
  • Experience of Big Data, Analytics, Machine Learning.
  • Actively participating in the wider engineering and/or management community.
