The Clinical Solutions Division of Elsevier uses its industry-leading intellectual property and content to create Clinical and Drug Reference, Patient Engagement, Performance Management, Workflow, Clinical Pathways, and Decision Support products for healthcare professionals across a range of practice settings and commercial organizations.  These products and tools aid in disease management, medication error reductions, workflow improvements, effective patient management and economic analysis and cost control.


The Clinical Informatics Specialist (CIS) is primarily responsible for successfully leading clients through the phases of the Elsevier Health Informatics EMR Triple I (Installation, Integration, Implementation) Methodology for the Elsevier Clinical Decision Support Solutions: Elsevier Care Planning, our evidence-based clinical content and Interprofessional Care Planning solution, Order Sets, our evidence based order set content and content management tool.  

Health Informatics works with various electronic medical record (EMR) platforms and applications (Epic, Cerner, Meditech, MV, SAP ISHMED, etc.). The CIS functions as a liaison between the Elsevier Clinical Solutions teams for Content and Product teams, Clients and Client specific EMR project implementation team members. The CIS is responsible for establishing a collaborative working relationship and facilitating communication between the Elsevier Clinical Solutions teams, the client’s EMR implementation resources, and the EMR vendor team. 

The CIS provides both clinical and technical expertise grounded in evidence-based practices and clinical informatics theory to leverage the technical and functional capabilities of the EMR applications to achieve optimal clinical workflows and clinician adoption and use of the Elsevier solutions within the EMR. 

The CIS will also provide the requisite education and training services to both the technical and clinical teams at the client organizations to ensure high degrees of clinician adoption, satisfaction and improved patient outcomes. 

The CIS is part of the Elsevier Clinical Solutions Health Informatics Team and under the oversight of the VP of Health Informatics. This position reports to the Regional Director RLAM. 

Role expected around 50% travel time in the LATAM region (Not Brazil).

 

Your Responsibilities: 

  • Care Planning & Order Sets data model support, enhancement, and maintenance during implementation within various EMR platforms
  • Supports the product directors in managing the content build within the Order Sets, Care Planning database in alignment with the product strategic roadmap.
  • Serve as clinical informatics liaison for both client EMR implementation team and Care Planning / Order Sets Services and Products team members
  • Acts as the Elsevier onsite lead and is responsible for ensuring the installation of the OS CMS client instance, the bi-directional integration between the client's EHR and the Elsevier CMS and the Implementation of Elsevier Order Sets and Care Planning.
  • Applies expertise to map workflows to EMR clinical documentation and order sets / care planning toolsets without direct access to system configuration tools.
  • The CIS is the Elsevier Implementation lead for Care Planning & Order Sets and is responsible for the client's use and adoption of the Elsevier solutions.
  • Provides education planning support and provides education and training services to ensure use and adoption.
  • Responsible for defining, implementing, tracking and reporting on Key Performance and adoption Metrics 

   Our Requirements:

  • Healthcare professional or health care project management professional
  • HIT/EMR (Health Care Information Technology/Electronic Medical Record) implementation experience.
  • 3 years or more of clinical informatics experience is preferred.
  • Experience with direct HIT/EMR product consulting, configuration and/or product management (Experience with clinical documentation, order sets and care planning configuration preferred)
  • Strong customer service skills, ability to educate and train clinical staff on the solutions.
  • EHR configuration and workflow experience
  • Strong organizational, analytic, writing and communication skills
  • Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
