Job Title: Business Analyst: Privacy and Compliance 

Reports to: Director of Privacy, Global  

Based at: Richmond with occasional international travel

Team Structure: No direct reports

Job Purpose: Assist in the deployment of the Privacy and Compliance Programmes. Deliver robust analysis of business requirements in the context of an overall understanding of the RX business. Particular focus on Global Privacy and Compliance. 

Scope: Assigned RX projects and programmes


•With support and guidance, assist other Business Units with their business readiness activities.  This will involve Knowledge Transfer sessions, demo’s and presentations to various sections of the business. 

•With support and guidance, eliciting, discussing and recording high-level requirements through organised meetings with Working Groups, Project Sponsors and other stakeholders, as well as any ad-hoc requests.

•Fleshing out, analysing and recording detailed requirements (functional and non-functional) through workshops with business stakeholders, as well as maintaining requirements traceability matrices.

•With support and guidance, articulating, defining and designing business processes and conducting business process mapping to help analyse, understand and model 'as-is' processes and drive analysis of 'to-be' processes (including impact analysis).

•With guidance and support and where the strategy requires it, working with multiple and disparate businesses, or various Global Process Owners, to drive towards a common approach and requirement.

•Defining use cases and user flow diagrams to capture required interactions between actors and systems, explain any complex user interactions and map user journey to system design. 

•Developing and articulating an end-to-end understanding of the RX business processes, business scenarios, business functions and data flows relating to a project, with support from and working with the regional BAs.  

•Authoring and reviewing functional specifications.

•Supporting the regional BAs with business change activities associated with assigned projects and programmes.

•Supporting the testing phases, including reviewing test scenarios and scripts, in conjunction with testing teams and business.

•Supporting the delivery of training material and knowledge transfer, including providing input, reviewing and approving material, and authoring training material where required.

•With support and guidance, managing stakeholders, including their expectations and agreed objectives, throughout the entire project lifecycle, and translating technical issues to help business understanding. 

•With support and guidance, understanding RX’s culture and global policies.

•With support and guidance, recognising and managing changes to project scope.

•Following the RX way of working (processes, documentation, templates, data and reporting) for Business Analysis. 

•Following Quality Assurance processes and activities within the Business Analysis team.


Experience in a Business Analysis and/or Business Change role.

Experience in privacy, data protection and compliance.

Experience in a global organisation. 

Second language beneficial.   

Good business analysis skills to translate user requirements into solution needs, and the ability to interpret written requirements and technical specification documents.

Excellent interpersonal, communication (both written and oral) and presentation skills to explain complex terminology and initiatives in straightforward terms to various audiences. 

Good influencing, negotiation and planning skills.

The ability to think clearly, analyse problems logically and make correct decisions under extreme pressure.

Self-starter with initiative, who demonstrates pro-activeness, and the ability to work within a team.
