Accuity Summer Intern Program 2019

Come be part of a vibrant, fast paced financial services company where you will learn first-hand how Accuity supports the financial community with innovative payments and compliance solutions.  Accuity has been around for 175 years and continues to grow.  The 2019 summer intern program provides you an opportunity to learn about the financial services and banking industry and to broaden your knowledge of fundamental business issues.  You will work on a variety of interesting projects focused on solving leading edge issues for our banking and financial services clients globally.

Significant challenges exist in the banking world, especially related to preventing money laundering in the financial system, improving the payment processes and the impact of regulations on banking performance, just to name a few.  As an intern, you will have an opportunity to help address these challenges.

This paid summer intern program is 10 weeks long with a June start date.  You will have the opportunity to work either in our Evanston or Chicago offices and work on a project assignment.  You will be invited to regular presentations, trainings and luncheons to give you exposure to other departments and to hear from senior managers on what the financial services industry is really like.  Past interns have found these meetings valuable to guide their future careers.

As a summer intern and under the guidance of a carefully selected mentor and guide, you will have the opportunity to work on various initiatives including (but not limited to):

·         Perform research tasks with a view to gathering data pertaining to industry, company and customer trends in the financial services industry

·         Compile accurate bank reference databases with current data on banks and other financial institutions

·         Develop sales forecasts and analyze financial trends in the industry

·         Gather data to analyze competition and industry information using statistical software techniques

·         Develop reports and presentations on market research initiatives and provide ideas on how this research can impact new product development

·         Develop software to enhance existing financial applications or develop new applications

Qualifications

·         You will be a rising sophomore to rising senior in a degree program, typically pursuing degrees in Business, Communications, Marketing, Liberal Arts, Technical, Engineering, Social Sciences or other business related degree programs

·         You are interested in financial services, are inquisitive and willing to dig deep into a particular issue and then be able to synthesize your findings at a higher level

·         You are able to work full time (37.5 hours) during the 10 week internship, willing to work unsupervised at times and able to meet project deadlines

·         You have a demonstrated record of academic success, with a minimum GPA of 3.0

·         You enjoy the global dimension of the business and even collaborate with others across time zones and countries
