Strategic Account Executive - Pharmacy Markets

Responsible for direct sales and business development with large clients across RISK Solutions Healthcare business units with emphasis in Pharmacy markets. This position will work with, and independently of, other sales organizations within RISK Solutions and drive/lead-up complex, multi-year sales opportunities focusing principally on Fortune 500 companies. In addition to his/her business development responsibilities, will assist the company in identifying and establishing large partnerships and strategic alliances that drive incremental revenue. Position is generally used to sell in emerging or developing markets requiring the most skilled and strategic sales professional to be successful. Position reports to VP Sales. 

  • New Business Development: Understand the strategic market direction and needs of business units, and penetrate new and existing customers by selling at the senior officer level within large, sophisticated business-to-business opportunities. In doing so, interact cross-functionally within the business units as well as across business units in order to identify and develop all potential revenue opportunity within the account. Once the sales opportunity is successfully closed, establish and initiate a hand-off plan to the implementation team to ensure a smooth transition to the applicable business unit(s). 50%  
  • Deal Negotiation: Oversee the collection of customer requirements, development of a business case and revenue model by working with functional teams within the business units. Lead the negotiations with the prospective customer through sales cycle to deal closure. 20% 
  • Assisting on Key Business Unit Initiatives: Assist the business unit sales efforts where needed. Work closely with sales team to establish specific action plans to penetrate customer opportunities that have stalled and/or require greater interaction at a more senior level within the account on order to move opportunity forward. Collaborate with business unit sales teams to enable/facilitate the sales closure. 11%  
  • New Market Opportunity Development: Based on relationships with the senior executive levels and market knowledge, identify new ways in which business can be developed using RISK Solutions data and product applications. Utilize developed networks to provide forums for information exchange in order to uncover new business opportunities. 10% 
  • Strategic Partnership/Alliance Development: Identify and uncover new strategic alliance opportunities, potential relationships and acquisitions to grow business. In addition, recommend partnerships to expand market coverage to under-penetrated customer segments. 10% 
  • Education: Bachelors Degree with Business or Marketing Major 
  • Experience & Training: 10+ in business-to-business or service oriented company 
  • Specific Skills: 
    • Executive level relationship building 
    • Sustained track record in accomplishments in strategic selling to large national account customers.  
    • Pharmacy segment experience and knowledge beneficial but not required.
    • Excellent verbal and written communications, as well as presentation skills. 
    • Must demonstrate strong persuasion skills and ability to successfully manage relationships at the Executive level.  
    • Business acumen and strategic thinking required to develop effective sales strategies. 
    • Strong organizational and forecasting skills. 
    • Understanding of the corporate and/or professional research process and have the ability to quickly develop an in depth understanding of RISK products and services and how they apply to the customers needs. 
    • Demonstrate outstanding networking capabilities and exhibit a professional demeanor, business maturity, and technical (PC and applications) knowledge. 
    • Manage multiple concurrent activities, all with fluctuating deadlines and with dependencies of work by other departments, both internal and external. 
    • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management and across multiple departments (technology, marketing, sales, etc)
  • Travel required 50%
