Job Summary

 

 

XpertHR is looking for a Software Engineering Lead to build a new US Development Squad in New Providence NJ as part of the wider XpertHR development team. This exciting new role will be responsible for mixture of hands-on development using latest technologies and managing Squad team members and projects. As Lead of this new US Development Squad, selected individual will work closely with US Product Team to define US product roadmap for 2020.

Experience (US Only) and Education

  • 7+ years of Software Engineering experience using .NET and tools, technologies, etc. outlined below 
  • 2+ years leading Software Engineering/Development Teams

  • BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience required

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for leading an internal development team
  • Provide accurate effort and cost estimates for deliverables
  • Meet or exceed operational targets, service-level agreements, estimates, quality and/or cost requirements
  • Make short- and long-term decisions in relation to product development strategies
  • Lead the development of technical standards and perform reviews to ensure enterprise and architectural standards and processes are followed
  • Utilize best practices and understand emerging trends
  • Work directly with customers and end users
  • Design and work with complex data models
  • Seek diverse ideas and perspectives from a variety of sources to create better solutions, products and services
  • Carry out people management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints, mediating disputes and resolving problems
  • Ensure all staff are provided with the training and resources needed to perform their jobs to the most outstanding degree possible.  Ensure all staff are provided with frequent feedback and coaching, including regular one-on-one sessions, in order to meet and exceed individual and team performance goals consistently
  • Manage and encourage new ideas from engineers and others to foster improvements through innovation
  • Empower engineers to be accountable and responsible for their own actions and decisions

Technical Skills

  • Hands-on experience with .Net, Angular, MongoDB, SQL, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, Git, Jira, etc.
  • Proven track record in leading technology resources to solve complex business needs.

  • Ability to leverage technical metrics to drive effective team decisions

  • Knowledge of large and complex systems

  • Knowledge of architectural and software design principals

  • Proven ability to lead test-driven software development and maintenance

  • Experience with code reviews and development approaches

  • Proven ability to adapt to new roles and responsibilities

  • Ability to manage teams and guide team members through vague requirements by way of helping them to understand complex data structures, elements, metrics, algorithms, user stories etc.

  • Experience in software development life cycle and Agile methodology (Scrum/Kanban)

  • Experience using Jira as a collaboration and tracking tool

  • Ability to set, communicate, implement, and achieve business objectives/goals via directly managing others

  • Ability to project plan, manage time and change, and mitigate risks across multiple functional groups

  • Excellent problem-solving ability with skill in identifying, researching and coordinating the resources necessary to effectively troubleshoot/diagnose complex project issues; prior success extracting/translating findings into alternatives/solutions; and identifying risks/impacts and adjustments to facilitate management decision-making.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation skills, applicable to wide audience including senior management and leadership, customers, etc., with ability to use strong diction/terminology and present concise information effectively to clients, management, leadership, etc. using varied communication mediums.

  • Superior collaboration skills and experience.
