Senior Product Manager - Cirium - Portland, OR preferred or Reston, VA

Cirium, formerly Flightglobal, is looking for a rock star Senior Product Manager to drive the product strategy and commercial success of its flagship Diio Mi portfolio.  As our Senior Product Manager, you will be responsible for defining product releases by understanding customer needs, utilizing lean startup methods to test new product features, collaborating with our tech partners to set sprint priorities and share requirements, and working with marketing and sales to develop go-to-market strategies.


In this role, you will be focused on the Diio Mi and SRS Analyser product portfolio, which  are the leading Market Intelligence tools used by airlines and airports around the globe. This Portland, OR-based position includes the following requirements:


Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

  • Develop the product strategy for Diio Mi, our flagship platform

·         Contribute to the development of other products focused on airline-related commercial analysis

·         Understand customer needs deeply for the key markets we serve

·         Determine what features to build or refine through lean product discovery process

·         Work with tech team to manage and groom the product backlog to support sprint planning

·         Co-develop product marketing strategy including value proposition, distribution and pricing with the marketing team

  • Achieve commercial targets by supporting sales efforts as needed
  • Own product analytics and KPI identification and tracking

·         Develop funding requests and provide reporting as needed

·         Ensure relevant stakeholders at all levels of the business are aware of product-related activity

·         Develop and work with customer communities to ensure ongoing user feedback

·         Travel to meet with colleagues, clients, vendors or others as required


Key Skills Required:

  • Strong understanding of data and analytical products
  • Deep knowledge of airline commercial planning space and data and tools used in it
  • Strong ability to discover products from initial customer discovery to live data prototype testing
  • Proven ability to take products from concept to launch in a fast, effective manner
  • Excellent internal and external communications skills
  • Strong ability to prioritize and manage self
  • Highly collaborative and able to influence well without authority


Experience Required:

  • 5+ years’ experience managing software products. You must be a “data geek” who seriously loves the underlying content, not just the interface
  • Experience in gathering customer insight and using it to drive successful product discovery
  • Experience working in an Agile environment, with a proven track record of successful product delivery
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to deliver presentations to internal and external audiences
  • Excellent people and management skills
Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Experience in the commercial airline or air passenger transport industries
  • Working knowledge of tourism and/or corporate travel markets  
  • B2B product experience
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in a technical subject (Computer Science or Engineering discipline)
