The Role


We are currently looking for a New Business Development Manager to establish a new sales team based in Frankfurt, Germany. You will be part of a new venture leading change and success in what is already a highly successful territory.


You will be responsible for driving the new business activities in Germany focusing on the net new acquisition of petrochemical downstream players such as converters and end-market manufacturers. You are responsible for organizing a strategic approach to engage, nurture and close new opportunities across these players, increasing ICIS revenues in this territory. The successful candidate will be a resourceful, motivated individual with a high level of curiosity, passion to learn, courage to try, fail and win.



Experience & Accountabilities

·         Proven track record of generating new business revenue and accountable/responsible for sales results.

·         Leading business development activities and developing growth strategies with plans to grow new clients.

·         Effectively build, manage and close a sales pipeline of qualified customers.

·         Maintains relationships with key decision makers.

·         Continuously learn in order to lead with insight, develop a deep understanding of customer workflows and customer value.

·         Maintain high volume and high quality customer engagement through phone, email, social media and onsite visits and should be travelling to targeted clients each month.

·         Record client engagement and communication using Salesforce.com.

·         Collaborate with all business functions locally and globally.

·         Excellent communicator, both verbally and written.

·         Has the flexibility to adapt to a fast changing environment and works well under pressure.

·         Creative problem solver with an entrepreneurial spirit.

·         Excellent presentation skills.

·         Able to build relationships both external and internal.

·         Experienced at working with CRM systems (preferably Salesforce.com)



·         Bachelor degree preferred; or significant industry experience

·         Demonstrable experience in a similar consultative sales position preferably license based subscription services.

·         Excellent written and spoken English
