Sales Operations Analyst

The RELX Group is a world-leading provider of information solutions for professional customers. Within this, LexisNexis Risk Solutions is looking for a motivated professional, with attention to detail, to join their fast growing Business Services team in Cardiff. Reporting to the Sales Operations Manager, the Sales Operations Analyst will play a key role in the company’s drive to improve Sales insight, analysing a range of data sources and producing reports, providing commercial decision support to drive profitable business growth.

Person Specification:

You’re an ambitious and motivated individual with a keen eye for detail. You are a proactive influencer and have excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to simply and effectively communicate complex data to a range of audiences, both verbally and in writing. You hold a GCSE of grade C or above in both English and Maths, with a demonstrable understanding of key statistical and probability principles. You enjoy the challenge of digging into the detail, drawing out key insights and have the ability to work just as well independently as you do as part of a team. You have excellent Microsoft Excel skills, with an understanding of key features that include formula, lookups, pivot tables, charts and graphs. You have a real passion for data that translates into how you approach your work and take pride in presenting your findings.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the data integrity and timely and accurate reporting of UK sales performance, to include CRM opportunity monitoring, correction and stakeholder engagement, to ensure best practices are maintained
  • Responsible for the preparation of attrition data and delivery of reporting metrics to key stakeholders to support strategic sales decisions and help minimise impact of attrition on revenue
  • Continuous evaluation of the sales pipeline to aid real-time forecasting.
  • Calculation of transactional sales data to ensure a range of sales metrics includes a view of transactional sales performance.
  • Responsible for the preparation of key activity data and delivery of reporting metrics that monitor Sales, CRM and Onboarding effectiveness
  • Provide ad-hoc support, to any department, that requests data to help support a business function, customer query or support need
  • Ensure the accuracy of information contained within company systems, highlighting and correcting discrepancies as and when encountered
  • Use own initiative to design, implement and maintain tools to track sales results outside the scope of existing reporting metrics
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities
  • Work closely with management to prioritise business and information needs
  • Actively promote and seek to improve inter-departmental collaboration, specifically between the worlds of Sales, Marketing and Finance
  • Develop and foster key relationships with both UK and International stakeholders, and UK and International partners
  • Carry out any other general day to day duties as and when required to ensure the smooth running of the business
Security/Training Responsibilities:
  • To comply with the Company’s information security and data protection policies and the Company’s Integrated Management System (IMS) at all times.
  • To follow all instructions as laid out within the IMS and local instructions offered by management
  • To study and be aware of relevant controls and instructions as highlighted within the IMS
  • To agree to utilise and manage all assets as stipulated
  • To report security and data protection events, incidents, or concerns via the standard reporting procedures as set out in the IMS
  • To partake in on-going security and data protection competence tests as required.
  • To maintain at all times the confidentiality of all the company’s privileged data and secrets, and not to divulge the same
Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) Compliance
  • To comply with the Company’s FCA policies and processes
  • Attend FCA training provided by the Company, to gain awareness and understanding of the FCA principles of business at www.handbook.fca.org.uk/handbook/PRIN/2/1.html
  • Perform day-to-day activities in accordance with the requirements and spirit of the FCA principles of business
