Position Summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic, analytical and commercial problem solver to join the Proagrica division of Reed Business Information, part of RELX group. The Sales Analyst will be responsible for driving analytical support to sales, finance and the Proagrica senior leadership team, with the aim of facilitating better revenue forecasting, tracking, reporting and commercial decision making. The right candidate will have excellent communication, analytical and data manipulation skills for maximum impact.


Proagrica is a global division of Reed Business Information specialising in the agriculture industry, with market-leading brands in Europe, Australia, Asia Pacific, South Africa and the US, employing around 450 people across 20 locations globally.  The role will be based in the United Kingdom, located in Sutton. There may be an occasional requirement to travel to other offices including international locations.


The Role

As an analyst you will provide support throughout the business to improve upon business reporting and decision making. In this role you will broadly spend your time working on:


Sales Analytical Support

·         Automating, enhancing and expanding on existing data reporting and processes to provide greater analytical insight.

·         Developing internal sales systems to capture data from our evolving sales processes.

·         Supporting the global sales leadership team in forecasting, tracking and reporting on sales pipeline and revenue performance.

·         Reviewing and reporting on key revenue and sales trends/KPIs.

·         Supporting the global sales team to drive revenue growth, including analytical contributions to sales initiatives, expansion and professionalisation.

·         Working with finance, legal and sales to understand the complexities of different deal structures and customer contracts.

·         Monitoring sales team performance through regular reporting to business leaders.

·         Supporting the target setting and commission calculation process.

·         Ensuring the highest standards of data quality and standards throughout commercial databases.


Working with sales, finance and marketing this will be a varied and a strategically important role contributing to the growth of Proagrica.  Ideal Candidate Profile



Must have:

·         Excellent communication and presentation skills, written and oral with the ability to break down complex analysis into easy to understand insights

·         Analytical (quantitative and qualitative), and structured problem solving skills.

·         Time management skills, working across several projects concurrently.

·         Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills, with a great sense for how to present data in visual and inspiring ways

·         Commercially motivated, with the desire to succeed.

·         Use of advanced analytical tools and approaches.


Not necessary, but preferable expertise in:

·         Previous sales experience, or experience of working closely with sales.

·         Experience working with data visualization software (e.g. Tableau).

·         History working closely with finance or financial information.



·         Positive, enthusiastic and motivated.

·         Analytically inquisitive, always exploring data further

·         Outstanding attention to detail when working with raw data and presentation materials.

·         Ability to work independently, whilst collaborating as part of cross-functional teams.

·         Highly results / output orientated.


Qualifications and Experiences

·         Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field e.g. Business, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Operational Research, or Statistics.

·         Experience in an analytical role within a corporate environment.
