RBI are looking for a Quality Engineering Lead to head up a fast-paced agile quality engineering team based here in Sutton. You will be expected to help shape and drive forward the testing strategy across the squads while working closely with business analysts and developers to ensure complete test coverage and successful delivery.


A passion for continuous improvement of quality of technology and data is essential. 


Job Purpose:


We ae looking for an experience Test Engineering Lead who will drive forward the testing strategy across multiple squads while working closely with business analysts and developers to ensure high levels of quality and confidence to facilitate successful delivery. You will be guiding squads on their quality strategy, reviewing test plans and approaches.


You will work closely with development teams, operations and other quality engineers from other tribes/departments ensuring ongoing best practices and consistency of approach.


You will work directly to write test cases and automate them, have a view on performance and security testing and have overall responsibility for the quality of the delivered products


The successful candidate will need to hit the ground running, with a proven track record of improving quality on complex multi-branch solutions.

Key Responsibilities: 
·        Line Management of Test Engineers

·        Be responsible for the Test Strategy across the Tribe/Squads

·        Understanding requirements and solutions to ensure testing is valid

·        Create the test plan in line with strategy and business standards

·        Reporting of test progression to Product owner and Test manager

·        Logging test effort and comparing against estimates

·        Be able to communicate technical solutions to non-technical colleagues

·        Overcoming problems and requirements by suggesting the best possible solutions

·        Drive forward Automation Testing

·        Ensure creation of manual test cases and automated tests for all user stories

·        Produce reports and documentation to keep stakeholders and management up to date

·        Support the Test Manager in any strategic change/Initiative


·        Strong experience in automation methodologies, tools, framework

·        Strong understanding of QA methodologies, process improvement and automation.

·        Experience in Agile, BDD, Continuous integration and Continuous delivery methods.

·        Designing test strategies, plans and processes, methodologies and supporting documentation for functional and non-functional areas

·        Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·        5+ Years line management ideally for multi-located QA resources.

·        Previous experience of following SDLC in an Agile environment

·        Understanding of DevOps

·        Strong analysis skills and logical approach to problem solving

·        Demonstrable ability to validate testing against business requirements

·        Ability to assimilate information and gain understanding of in-house systems

Desirable skills & experience:

·        Experience both working internally and with 3rd party providers

·        Solid ability to juggle opposing priorities

·        Confident and Influential character

·        Ideally experience of working in a corporate environment

·        Experience of Jenkins configuration
