International employment law editor – XpertHR

Overview of role

XpertHR has a vacancy for an editor for our suite of country-specific international employment law guides.

The International employment law editor will take day-to-day responsibility for the guides, which provide an overview of employment law in 45 key global jurisdictions for HR professionals. Commissioning new and updated content from expert contributors based around the world, the editor will ensure that the guides are kept accurate and up to date for our audience of HR practitioners, and that new content is published in line with our high editorial standards.

This rewarding role offers interesting and stimulating work directed at ensuring that employers' needs for up-to-date compliance about international employment laws are met.

This role would suit an individual with, ideally, both editorial skills and employment law knowledge, and is an excellent opportunity to take on a key role in our editorial team.

The international employment law editor will be accountable to a managing editor who takes overall responsibility for our international guides, and will work alongside a team of UK employment law editors, HR practice editors and others working on XpertHR, the market-leading online HR resource.

The role is full time (five days a week).

Desired skills and experience

Ideally, you should have both editorial skills and knowledge of employment law in one or more jurisdictions. In addition to good interpersonal skills and the written communication skills necessary to explain technical legal issues clearly to non-lawyers, you will have a good eye for detail, an excellent command of the English language, an ability to deal with complex legal text and good time-management skills.

You are likely to have experience of editing legal text. We do not require you to be a qualified legal practitioner, but you will probably have experience working in a law firm, a legal department or with HR practitioners, and either hold a law degree or similar qualification, or be able to demonstrate that you have a good level of legal knowledge.
