The Department


Corporate Communications


The director of corporate communication is responsible for developing and leading Accuity’s communications and brand strategy and execution.  This role supports executive leadership as a communications advisor and strategist, leading external and internal communications and brand strategy.  

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities


- Develop coordinated, enterprise-wide corporate communications and brand strategy to support Accuity’s global business goals
- Lead corporate media/public relations and analyst/influencer relations efforts and act as centralized resource guiding product and regional functions
- Be the brand guardian, overseeing the management and evolution of the Accuity brand portfolio across all channels
- Set measurable objectives for the communications function
- Oversee communications measurement, including the design and operation of relevant dashboards and reports
- Support internal and executive communications
- Maintain and develop relationships with key industry analysts and key national and trade media
- Curate, architect and promulgate centralized corporate content, while leading our editorial board
- Implement protocols and best practices in anticipation of crisis management
- Implement key communications and brand policies, protocols and guidelines
- Work with social media operations to develop a corporate social media strategy and governance


Experience Required


- Demonstrable experience  of corporate communications experience
- Formal experience managing direct reports and teams
- Formal experience in managing budget
- Related market/industry experience desirable – Financial Services, Financial Crime Compliance  and/or Payments system


Key Skills Required


- Hands-on corporate public relations experience, ideally in a similar industry
- Management experience including the ability to build and grow a team
- Previous demonstrated linkage of communications efforts to an organization’s broader campaign plan
- Previous demonstrated crisis management/avoidance
- Project management
- Strong written/oral communications
- Messaging, positioning and fluency with content
- Budget management
- Strategic, objective-driven planning and reporting
- Trusted advisor to senior executives
