The Esports events Director is in charge of the current and future activities of Reed MIDEM in the field of esports, with 4 priority axes: strategic positioning of the brand; declination of the strategy into a profitable growth plan; representation of the brand internationally; detection of new trends. This includes the following activities:

  • P & L: Ensuring the achievement of revenue and contribution targets in line with the budget;
  • Strategy: Define and manage the brand strategy for which you are responsible, taking into account the Group's strategy, the evolution of the environment (economic, competitive and technological) and development opportunities;
  • Products, Marketing, Sales: optimize the growth of existing shows by acting on different levers: brands, positioning, pricing, new formats / products / services (digital and multichannel offers), territories, segments and sectors;
  • Business Development: detect and exploit development opportunities in potential territories, segments and sectors: search for acquisition opportunities, partnerships, new launches, new formats (conferences, summits, etc.) or new ones business models (eg online);
  • Knowledge of the sector and network: maintain a high level of relations with customers, all stakeholders in France and internationally, as well as with key event stakeholders
  • Commercial strategy: Define and implement the sales strategy and the pricing policy of the exhibitions in collaboration with the TV and Entertainment Division Directors and the Corporate Sales Department in order to achieve the revenue targets of the various shows. Manage the defined strategies and ensure the achievement of objectives, with the necessary reporting tools.
  • Sales teams management: supervise and manage the dedicated sales teams. Define priorities and business objectives and follow incentive plans.
  • Sales: Participate in high level negotiations in collaboration with sales teams.

You ensure a leadership role in matrix mode with cross-functional teams, foreign offices, and the network of representatives abroad.

You will have to actively support and be the guarantor of Reed MIDEM's ambition, strategy and values, as well as Reed Exhibitions' One Company vision.

This job may be for you if...

You have:
  • A higher Education degree (Business School) with a focus on management and / or international trade or equivalent;
  • A proven expertise in international business development;
  • Experience in managing a business unit and its business results in an international context;
  • An understanding of the esports industry and an established network within the esports international community
  • A knowledge of the world of events
  • A real interest and experience in digital marketing.
You are:
  • bilingual in French / English with excellent communication skills (written and oral) in both languages;
  • demonstrating strong project management skills, strategic marketing, sales and customer relationship management skills as well as strategic and technical mastery of the financial management of an activity;
  • result oriented with a creative mind;
