The Director for Agile Delivery leads a globally distributed team of delivery managers to support the effective performance of tech teams and develop a collaborative culture focused on continuous improvement. They are the contact point for anyone who has a concern about delivery effectiveness or capability.

Job Responsibilities

The director for agile delivery is responsible for:

  • Owning and evolving the delivery strategy and framework so that teams have the scaled structure, governance and support to be effective
  • Confidently advocating the value of agile delivery and culture across all levels and business areas of LexisNexis to increase organizational agile understanding and maturity
  • ·    Leading an agile community of practice to build capability in agile ways of working
  • ·    Working alongside tech teams to identify impediments to agile delivery or team productivity and resolving or escalating these
  • ·    Interpreting industry best practice into agile delivery expectations for LN (for example data-driven delivery, iterative delivery, innovation, transparency, risk and issue management, communication, early feedback) and supporting ADMs to find Ways of Working that support their teams
  • ·    Supporting the professional development and continuous improvement of a team of ADMs that can scale and grow to support the business’s needs
  • ·    Coaching and mentoring to ensure the team are engaged in learning and improving
  • Leading the continuous planning and delivery process across all the tech teams to ensure the most important things are worked on as effectively as possible and strategic goals are achieved
  •  Advocating a lean approach to delivery shaping team to deliver MVP as appropriate
  • Working with product and tech to set and communicate the strategy for tech teams so everyone is clear about what’s important and why
  • Transparent peer-to-peer communication and agile mentorship with the tech leadership team to ensure teams receive the support that they need
  • Promoting the continuous improvement of the tech hub at team and leadership level
  • With the rest of the tech leadership, setting a supportive delivery culture that empowers teams to innovate, experiment and learn
  • Ensure relevant measurements are used by the teams to correct issues and improve throughput, champion the use of DORA metrics to measure the health of the overall organization

 


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 8+ years of combined project management, scrum master and development work experience required, with at least 5 years using Agile methodologies
  • Proven experience with enterprise-size projects in multiple technologies and functions
  • Advanced knowledge and proven expertise in project management tools 
  • Flexible and open to changing priorities in a fast paced environment yet still able to balance compressed time frames all while maintaining the highest levels of customer service
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the proven ability to interact confidently and professionally with all levels within the organization, including senior executive leadership
  • Keen attention to detail, commitment to quality, critical thinking, and exceptional judgment
  • Strong work ethic and high initiative
  • Team player with forward lean and optimistic outlook
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor others as well as strong conflict management and facilitation skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • Agile and/or Scrum certification is required; advanced Agile certification strongly preferred
  • PMP or similar certification preferred
