Provide the strategic and tactical direction of a specified market area. Define the strategy goals and objectives for the market area and facilitate action in the accomplishment of those goals. Ensure the maximum revenue growth for the market area.
Accountabilities:
  • Develop and execute Segment Management strategy for a specific market area. Participate in developing the short and long range operating objectives for the segment. 
  • Project manage key business inititiatives and facilitate action to accomplish market area strategy and revenue goals by working in a matrix across the organization (finance, marketing, sales, pricing, etc) 
  • Accountable for revenue objectives in the specific market area. 
  • Partner with sales and pricing teams to assist with account negotiation process, potentially including exceptions, strategy, pricing, product bundling, etc. 
  • Gain competitive insights, with data collection from the sales team and review of competitor's strategy.  Make recommendations on how we can win.  
  • Review and monitor the market area financial performance on a continuing basis, including risks/opportunities and work to adjust plans and priorities appropriately by balancing near/mid-terms business conditions with longer term priorities. 
  • Direct the analysis for specific near term market opportunities determined to be of major importance to the market area and/or overall Segment area. 
  • Develop and recommend sales channel strategy utilizing market research and other relevant data. 
  • Establishes and maintains appropriate communications within and between various functional areas within the market area of responsibility. 
  • Works with pricing team to develop processes, recommend pricing actions, and creation of promotional programs in support of segment strategy and revenue plan.



 
Qualifications:
  • Requires an MBA or equivalent professional achievement.     
  • Requires a minimum of 5+ yrs. related technical and professional experience.
  • Skills required include business acumen, strategic planning, creativity, highly developed leadership and interpersonal skills, quantitative analytical abilities and outstanding communication skills. Sales experience/knowledge a strong plus.
  • The ability to work effectively within a matrix organization.
  • 2+ years of work experience with a strategy consulting firm strongly preferred.
