We’re looking for a Data Specialist responsible for executing the business’ marketing data strategy from audience acquisition and definitions through data quality to segmentation strategies. Delivering strategic and tactical planning, and with a hands-on approach, the data specialist has a deep understanding of the brand’s customer data, data landscape and data processes; in short, they are the expert on customer data for Proagrica.

Job Purpose:

You will be responsible for executing a marketing data strategy that underpins regional and global marketing goals and focusses on audience data acquisition and enhancement, data quality improvement, segmentation tactics and other data-centric opportunities. You will work with key roles in Marketing, Sales and Product to implement a robust and consistent customer data taxonomy

Key Responsibilities:

Define and execute Proagrica’s data strategy, working closely with analysts to identify the best data to support accurate, robust data models

Identify and evaluate sources of third-party data that could build upon and enrich our existing customer data assets; partnering with the Data & Analytics CoE to ensure compliance and data standards are met

Adopt best practice and standard frameworks to manage audience acquisition and external resources

Report progress on, and developments to, the marketing data strategy on a regular basis to the wider marketing organisation within Proagrica

Become the Proagrica customer data expert; have a detailed understanding of the data landscape, systems that house our customer data and the processes by which data is created and/or updated

Be proactive in keeping aware of new developments




Previous experience in a marketing data solutions/CRM data focussed role, ideally in a business-to-business or agency environment

An analytical mind-set

Experience of Salesforce.com, Eloqua and/or similar technologies

Data manipulation

Strong grasp of conceptual marketing systems landscapes

Experience of developing marketing or other business-focussed data strategies

Understanding of marketing approaches for different business models – lead generation, subscriptions, ABM.

Strong stakeholder management

A technical aptitude, with a business solution focus

Documentation drafting and communication skills

Ability to adjust communication style for technical and non-technical audiences

Strong investigative and problem-solving skills

Ability to interact with technical teams (e.g. developers, DBAs, business analysts, etc.)

Possesses a resilient personality and reacts well under pressure


Knowledge and understanding of data manipulation, visualisation and analysis tools (e.g. SAS, SQL, SPSS, Faststats, Tableau)
