ICIS is seeking an Business Development Manager to join its experienced petrochemical sales team in Japan; primarily focused on generating business from new & existing clients. You will be responsible for contacting and qualifying prospects, explaining our products and services, proposing solutions that meet customer needs, and closing new business. An effective Business Development Manager must be an excellent communicator, have superior people skills and possess a strong work ethic. They must be comfortable presenting products or services over the phone and face to face as well as dealing with sales objections.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead business development activities and develops growth strategies and plans to grow new clients
  • Effectively build, manage, and close a sales pipeline of qualified customers for ICIS products and services
  • Demonstrate our products focusing on the customer’s business objectives
  • Go the extra mile to hit Sales targets and facilitate future sales
  • Efficiently manage a portfolio of customers to optimize client satisfaction, engagement, and retention
  • Ask questions to understand customer requirements, purchasing dynamics, and contracting processes
  • Answer detailed questions about a product, our content, or the company
  • Enter and upload customer information into Salesforce.com and relevant CRM databases
  • Keep records of sales and note useful information

 

Skills and Behaviours:

  • A natural on the phone and comfortable, to have high in-depth business discussions with senior decision makers
  • Highly self-motivated, energetic individual who builds strong relationships quickly
  • Great negotiation and communication skills – able to conduct cold calls effectively
  • Strong focus on solution sales and selling on value with experience in a BDM role
  • Commercially minded with a strong motivation to succeed in a high performing sales team
  • Flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the changing market, our customers and the business
  • Be prepared for occasional foreign travels
  • Fluent in English, Native level in Japanese
