Business Development Manager/Head of North America - ICIS - Houston or New York

                                        

We are looking for a senior petrochemical market expert with strong commercial acumen and a passion for engaging with customers and colleagues across functions to join our global Business Development team as Head of North America, based in Houston or New York. As Head of North America, you will work at the interface of ICIS commercial and content teams, and help create short- and long-term value for ICIS and our clients by leveraging your market network and applying your deep market expertise to ICIS’ commercial activities.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Be the liaison between sales, marketing, product and content teams, and the go-to market expert for North American commercial teams and customers
  • Act as pre-sales expert on sales calls to demonstrate ICIS expertise and help understand and find solutions for customer requirements, particularly when we target new customers and new user personas, and introduce new products
  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments to ensure a best in class customer experience for our key customers, by pro-actively engaging customers and by answering market related questions
  • As a key stakeholder in the development of commercial strategies for North America, you contribute your deep market expertise to the cross-functional teams developing the strategies that will direct our commercial activities in North America. You will help identify key opportunities and coordinate content-led client engagements
  • Drive ICIS brand reputation by attending and presenting at key industry events and maintaining strong relationships with market players
  • Document and relay customer feedback to product and content teams to further improve our products and services
  • Support and drive ad-hoc business development opportunities as required

 

Requirements

 

  • Deep knowledge of petrochemical markets
  • Good network within the market
  • Understanding of petrochemical market players’ workflows, business problems, and objectives or willingness to learn
  • Commercial acumen or willingness to learn
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work cross-functionally
  • Strong communication skills to internal and external stakeholders at different levels of seniority, and an ability to quickly build rapport with new contacts
  • Leadership experience
  • Willingness to travel
  • Strong understanding of ICIS product or willingness to learn
  • Knowledge of energy markets a plus
  • Fluent English
