Business Development Manager – Travel & Transportation – FlightGlobal -  Portland, OR

 

 

Reporting into the Regional Sales Director, the Business Development Manager will have a variety of duties aimed at managing the specified portfolio client relationships, as well as developing new business from existing clients. In most environments, the Business Development Manager will actively seek out new clients. As with most sales roles, the Business Development Manager will typically be compensated with a base salary plus a bonus plan tied to the amount of revenue generated.

 

Key Role Responsibilities

 

As a Business Development Manager, your responsibilities will include:

 

Client Communication

 

- Serve as the face of the product sales portfolio in the specified sector.
- In most cases, is the primary, if not only, company representative who communicates with clients in the specified sector.
- As a result, it is important to deliver a positive customer service experience.
- This is accomplished by listening to each client in order to gain an understanding of their individualized needs, in order to direct them to the appropriate product or service.
- It is important for the Business Development Manager to manage the expectations of clients; when disruptions occur during the service delivery process, it is imperative that the Business Development Manager works to resolve situations quickly, as the goal is to maintain the customer relationship and delivery of the account

 

Account Management:

 

- The Business Development Manager must maintain or exceed a minimum amount of sales.
- Take instruction from the Sales Director on the customer quota for the confirmed business year.
- Ability to meet that sales target through value based selling techniques, values, experience and behaviors outlined in this job description.
- Retention of existing client base with the ability of follow up leads and information from trade shows and events
- Liaising with the marketing, product and sales enablement teams to help develop a deep understanding for the continued success of strategic sales priorities

 

Reporting

 

- The Business Development Manager is required to prepare various reports surrounding the metrics of the sales department: quarterly sales results, annual forecasts and account status reports are just a few examples.
- Reporting documents are presented to senior management.
- Although a Business Development Manager may rely on the support of an administrative professional, such as a sales coordinator, to perform this task, it is not uncommon for her/him to perform this duty herself/himself, particularly if he is employed in a smaller organization or at a lower professional level.
- Knowledge of computer programs and CRM systems such as Microsoft Excel and Salesforce.com is required to complete reporting tasks.

Qualification and Requirements

 

- Bachelors /Equivalent experience and earned advanced professional certifications in their fields, and experience is the only firm prerequisite for this job.
- Results oriented.
- Proven track record of driving important constructive relationships with our customer and managing accounts are a key measure of success.
- To be an advocate for the sales team and a representative of FlightGlobal
- Professional certifications in Strategic Sales, Account Management, and Sales Management
