Job Title: Business System Analyst
Reports to: Head of Financial Services
Location: Johannesburg, South Africa
Job Purpose: To provide business and system analytic skills and expertise to effectively consult, advise, build and implement projects and with various clients.

General Description:

To work within various customers and internal stakeholders to, understand, identify, and design solutions to close business gaps. Plan enhancements to solutions, recommend software and systems and translate business / system requirements into specifications, which development teams can use to implement. Provide expert advice and skills in identifying shortfalls, closing gaps and improving solutions. Write user requirement specifications and compile technical specifications. To build relationships with customers and deliver projects based on customer requirements successfully.  Clients are based in Africa, so the applicant should be willing to travel locally and internationally.

Pre-requisites:

BSc (IT) or equivalent 3 year qualification (IIBA or CBAP certification beneficial)
5 years job experience (preferably in financial services)
Experience in UML modelling 
Experience in process mapping
Database skills (basic SQL skills and ability to create ERD’s)
Driver’s license, passport, and own transportation required
Financial Services, Compliance and Regulatory background preferable.
goAML reporting experience would be an advantage

Primary Responsibilities:

The business system analyst's/project manager’s primary objective is helping businesses implement technology solutions in a cost effective way by determining the requirements of a project or program, and communicating them clearly to stakeholders, facilitators and partners.

The business system analysts is expected to take the lead role in:

Assisting or creating the business case
Planning and monitoring
Eliciting requirements
Requirements organisation
Translating and simplifying requirements
Requirements management and communication
Requirements analysis
Compile technical specifications
Use requirements to drive the design or review of test cases, process change requests, and manage a project’s scope, acceptance, installation and deployment.
Testing of implemented solutions with the end user
Technically evaluation cause of issues identified in the test case and make recommendations to the development team
Running of projects by managing budget, resources and tasks
Ensuring projects are delivered as per the scope and timeline communicated to the client 

Additional Responsibilities:

Personal relationship management of assigned clients, including regular contact and forming a good working relationship with the client 
Support of developed/deployed solutions with key customers
Focus on building quality solutions for clients
Reusable code/solutions
