The Role

As one of our Key Account Managers in Africa, you’ll be joining a team maximising the opportunities for Proagrica.  You’ll be travelling a lot, meeting future and existing customers, building your opportunity pipeline from a blend of marketing and self-generated leads.  You’ll also take responsibility for some of our key customers, with a remit to ensure they achieve the goals set out when they invested in Adaptris solutions as well as to identify and deliver growth potential.  We’ll support you in lead gen, account management and customer success – and you’ll need to be an accomplished, focused, energetic and insight-led sales professional.

 

Experience in the agriculture industry is ideal however we welcome interest from successful sales professionals from across the B2B sector.

 

Department & Location

 

The Proagrica vision is to unite the global agricultural industry, empowering farmers’ productivity through their data, becoming the global expert in harmonising agricultural data and improving the performance of our customers’ businesses.  The business is headquartered in the UK, with several overseas offices, and the successful candidate will be working either from the Fourways South Africa office.


Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities

 

Identifies, builds and tailors relationships with key decision makers and establish a network of contacts within client organisations

Negotiates effectively with customers, following agreed guidelines

Achieves revenue targets and KPIs

Understands and uses the agreed selling process

Engages prospects in a detailed discovery process to identify relevant solutions, presenting Adaptris as a partner of choice, able to solve the customer’s challenges and meet or deliver on their strategic objectives 

Creates effective business proposals and pitch documents, using all relevant systems, e.g. Salesforce

Monitors a range of information sources on a regular basis to establish prospect/customer activity, to identify self-generated leads and to keep abreast of latest industry news

Plans and targets prospects effectively, implementing successful actions to achieve goals

Maintains a robust territory plan, reviewing priorities and next actions with key stakeholders as needed

Opens up new and increases penetration of existing markets

Proactively makes sales calls and uses time management practices to exceed targets

 

Key Skills Required

  

Ability to acquire market knowledge and understanding of market structures

Proven sales experience 

Organisational and planning skills

Able to build relationships, both external and internal

Able to network within organisations, with confidence up to the C-suite 

Demonstrable understanding of the sales proposition

Able to meet deadlines and perform under pressure

Negotiation and influencing skills

Presentation skills

People-oriented

Excellent listening and communication skills
