Basic Job Function

Provide the strategic and tactical direction supporting our international expansion strategy and collaborate across the business unit and the entire RISK division. Working with Business Unit CEO - Define the strategy, goals and objectives for the market and facilitate action in the accomplishment of those goals.  Ensure the maximum revenue growth for the market area.  Develop global team to ensure they are highly engaged and committed to identify RISK goals. Ability to adapt to a high-pressure environment, effectively communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders, and adapt to a rapidly changing environment. Proven ability in communicating decisions, needs and priorities to others within or outside of their organization; Ability to discuss business drivers to senior management and convert needs to actionable deliverables.



  1. Develop and execute market strategies for expansion of the Business Services business unit outside the USA

  2. Manage development of local country businesses in UK and Brazil

  3. Identify and execute international expansion strategy by identifying new countries for local business expansion

  4. Lead the international sales and market planning teams

  5. Facilitate action to accomplish market strategy by leading a cross functional matrix team (finance, product development, marketing, sales, technology) to execute go to market strategies in the specific geographic area.  

  6. Direct the development of, and participate in reviewing and approving the short and long range operating objectives and plans, developing and integrating the individual market area (state) plans and strategies into an overall market area plan to achieve maximum revenue growth in support of the overall corporate strategy.

  7. Strong industry knowledge of competitive products and services. Identifies existing and new opportunities for revenue growth or expense reduction.

  8. Accountable for market area revenue and profit objectives.

  9. Accountable for employee engagement, talent development, and career planning

  10. Provides leadership and guidance for the international team  to ensure its ongoing growth and profitability to include coaching, mentoring, and developing individuals to ensure an appropriate level of management guidance and succession planning

  11. Ensures the proper execution of strategic market area plan

  12. Define portfolio gaps and develop plans to address via portfolio product evolution

  13. Lead M&A activities which support market strategies

  14. Coordinate with global market planners

  15. Responsible for ensuring through the market area strategy, the appropriate product portfolio mix and appropriate positioning. Develop recommendations for new product concepts and existing product modifications in line with the market area strategy and overall market area strategy.

  16. Review and evaluate the market area performance on a continuing basis and establishes the proper measures of performance; provides direction for modification in work plans or implementation of contingency plans in accordance with prevailing business conditions.

  17. Direct the analysis for specific near term market opportunities of major importance and the development of business cases, pricing, negotiation and contract strategies to ensure an adequate level of customer satisfaction

  18. Identify timely and appropriate business plans to support the strategic goals of the market area.  Work with matrixed cross functional team on the development of the business case.

  19. Develop and recommend sales channel strategy utilizing market research and data

  20. Support relationships with key accounts, industry and trade associations, and representatives of government, public service organizations, customers and vendors as necessary in the overall management of the market area.

  21. Establishes and maintains appropriate communications within and between various functional areas.

  22. Initiates and develops pricing strategies and policies; recommend pricing actions and promotional programs in support of market area strategy and revenue plan.

  23. Review the activities within the market area for strengths and weaknesses and take corrective action when necessary.


  1. Requires and MBA or equivalent educational achievement. 

  2. Requires a minimum of 15+ years related technical and professional experience. 

  3. Requires previous P&L ownership of greater than $100m

  4. Skills required include business acumen, strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, corporate development, organizational assessment, creativity, highly developed leadership and interpersonal skills, quantitative analytical abilities and outstanding communication skills. 

  5. The ability to lead and manage in a global and matrixed organization.

  6. Significant international travel required
