Strategic Account Manager – Academic & Government 



This position will be based in Bangalore

Basic Job Function:


The purpose of this role is to obtain new business, create new opportunities and increase revenue of LN Online products in the strategic accounts through sales of LexisNexis products and solutions within a small number of named accounts & prospects, spread across the academic , government & Judiciary.


Maximize subscription renewals, and product sales by increasing market penetration, by strengthening relationships amongst designated accounts / prospects.


Strategic Account Manager (SAM) should understand product, technology, customer needs, and work with the relationship owners.




·         Meet or exceed monthly and annual revenue objectives within a defined list of named accounts & prospects. 

·         To establish and maintain close contact with key bodies like BCI officials, Academics, Judicial officers in High courts/ Benches and state bar associations to keep an eye on any upcoming opportunities in the region.

·         Closely track the government funding into the segment, specially in judiciary to ensure maximum part of it is spent on LexisNexis products & Solutions.

·         Sales forecasting for budgetary process from the named accounts.

·         Develop and implement strategic account plans, which identify sales strategies, for top accounts and assess revenue potential, and outline targeted activities, and required cross functional resources required to maximize revenue opportunities and penetrate market with LexisNexis  products and solutions. 

·         Develop clear and thorough sales plans for each account detailing all relevant information about an account. 

·         Establish and maintain excellent customer relationships at all levels, and act as liaison between LexisNexis and our customers to provide superior service and solutions. 

·         Create and implement effective account/territory plans that include; developing and implementing a sales strategy considering new business growth, working with all resources necessary to drive new business.

·         Developing key contacts and business relationships within a new account including influential individual and high level decision makers. 

·         Bring market intelligence about the competitors activities and responses

·         Develop strategic sales plan using business analysis tools to identify and track revenue trends, recognize sales opportunities, target specific sales activities, and analyze competitive threats. 



·         Graduate / MBA optional but preferred 

·         5- 7+ years proven sales experience

·         Work experience in the professional sales environment desirable

·         Strong oral and written communication skills as well as presentation skills

·         Proven experience and track record in managing strategic accounts.

·         Strong organizational and forecasting skills

·         Demonstrate outstanding networking capabilities and exhibit a professional demeanor, business maturity, and technical (PC and applications) knowledge

·         This position requires travel which includes overnight travel as much at 40-60% travel requirements.
