Software Engineer III (Full-Stack) – Alpharetta, GA


The candidate chosen for this role will work alongside team members located across multiple time zones (primarily EST and Beijing time) in an agile environment and apply technical, analytical and communication skills towards producing and maintaining a high quality big data application using Java and HPCC technology stack. Insurance companies and auto manufacturers in US, EU, and China use this application.


You will grow into a Full-Stack software engineer by giving an opportunity to maintain and build big data applications including the front end, the middle-layer, and the back-end data store. You will also learn and use the latest DevOPS practices and tools in the AWS cloud. For this role we need someone driven and willing to work in a fast-paced environment and also willing to take risks on exploring new ideas and areas when needed. You will be mentored and guided by a very experienced Full-Stack engineer because your growth and development is something important for us to check often.


Additional unique advantage about this position is its international exposure. You will not only be working closely with engineers in US and China, you will have a chance to interact with peers in other countries who work on the same/similar projects. Your project experience will go beyond US, and your industry knowledge will cover multiple countries.

Experience and Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
  • 3 years of programming and systems analysis
Technical Skills:

Java, Big Data, Application Development.

  • Solid skill set in Java, HTML/CSS, JavaScript/JQuery, Spring Framework
  • Experience with database design and development (MySQL and/or Oracle)
  • Experience with automated unit testing
  • Must be passionate about Full-Stack software development
  • Strong understanding of normalized/dimensional data modeling principles
  • Strong research skill
  • Ability to interface competently with other technical personnel or team members to finalize requirements
  • Ability to work well with internal and external technology resources Knowledge of test-driven development
  • Ability to write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of complex system components
  • Ability to complete complex bug fixes
  • Good oral and written communications skills
  • Must be fluent bilingual in both oral and written communication (English and Mandarin Chinese)
Key Responsibilities:
  • Big data application development – create, maintain and enhance existing applications
  • Act as a technical project liaison between China and Global team to ensure knowledge sharing and issue resolution
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Investigate, analyze, document and fix reported issues
  • To maintain a high level of software quality
  • Successfully implement development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews
  • Resolve complex technical issues as necessary
  • Keep abreast of new technology developments
  • Design and work with complex data models
  • All other duties as assigned
Helpful / Preferred
  • Experience developing in Python, Big Data, Mobile, IOT, ML, AI applications in AWS
  • Experience with Test Driven Development
  • Experience with dependency injection, automation, and application design patterns
  • Experience using Agile/Scrum and DevOPS practices
