The Marketing Manager for MLex will be responsible for achieving the US law firm/corporate and Investment Markets (US + UK) marketing goals. Using their knowledge of the segment, products and competition, you will develop a strong marketing strategy and tactical plan that provides the greatest opportunity for awareness, leads and new sales. This role will need to develop a strong relationship with the Sales team they partner with and provide tangible ROI to the business in the form of agreed upon metrics. This role will also be responsible for managing the budget associated with this region/market segment. Digital marketing, including Web/SEO, PPC and email marketing, is critical to this role, so strong experience and knowledge is needed in order to attain the growth expected of this area. Due to the nature of the MLex global news business, flexibility in work hours, attention to detail/accuracy and speed to market are necessary.

 
Job responsibilities:

1. Development of marketing strategies and tactical plans for law firm, corporate and investment markets, based on the needs of the business and market attributes.

o   Candidate should have proven experience developing strong plans for a specific market, including background support, alignment to company strategy, expected results, timelines for execution and budget required.

2. Execution of marketing tactics within the plan, in order to attain the lead, deal and revenue goals set for the market

o   Candidate should have proven experience of strong execution of plan tactics, mostly independently with consultation and support from managers, support teams or agencies.

o   This role involves hands on execution and will have a high volume of activity at times. Ability to multi-task, prioritize and ensure deadlines are met are skills needed to be successful.

3. Results reporting (ie: open rates, web traffic, lead volume, lead conversion, ROI analysis) to the business, including YOY metrics and recommended actions for improvement.

o   Candidate should have demonstrated ability to measure, report on and interpret marketing results.

4. Budget management

o   Candidate will have responsibility for detailed tracking of all marketing expenses incurred, managing expenses without exceeding the yearly budget and using best judgment to spend with ROI in mind.

5. Strong partnership with Sales team and other stakeholders, with demonstrated value and support of their needs.

 
 
Skills needed:

1. 4+ years B2B Marketing experience with direct responsibilities including Web, Social Media, Email Marketing and Events Marketing—including management of the associated budget for these activities.

2. Proven experience independently developing and executing a marketing plan for multiple products/markets within the geographical area(s) of responsibility.

3. Intermediate marketing automation knowledge (ie: Pardot, Marketo or similar), including hands on experience in list loading, email development, deployment, reporting and Salesforce integration.  

4. Basic CRM knowledge (Salesforce preferred), including hands on experience in creating campaigns, reports and other items needed to ensure strong integration of marketing leads for Sales and visibility of leads through the entire sales funnel (from lead creation to close).

5. Basic digital marketing experience and knowledge of SEO and PPC fundamentals

6. Basic Web CMS capabilities. Marketing manager will be responsible for web site maintenance and creation of web pages, landing pages, etc.  

7. Attention to detail. Marketing Manager must be able to acutely track all data sources, metrics and budget spending for real-time reporting to the business as needed.

8. Accuracy and speed to market. Given the nature of a news business, accuracy of information published on the web, social media or email is critical for accuracy and timeliness. Must be able to meet deadlines, some of which will be for same-day turnaround based on timeliness of content.
