Commercial Finance / Commissions Analyst (Junior Level)


Purpose of the role

  • Track and report on commissionable sales performance

  • Assist in formulating annual commissionable targets in line with LN revenue objectives

  • Act as key point of contact in responding to commission-related queries

  • Support for reporting cost performance for GTM support functions

Key result areas

Sales Commissions

  • Prepare and appraise monthly sales commissions in conjunction with the Commissions Analyst

  • Help review key monthly movements and implications on commission payments

  • Facilitate inbound mailbox query resolution

  • Assist in annual process of calculating accelerator payments

Sales Targets

  • Facilitate the development of annual sales targets, ensuring the scheme is in keeping with desired business behaviours and revenue objectives

  • Help to formulate bottom-up annual sales targets, aligned to the delivery of budgeted revenue.

Commissions, Billings and Cost Reporting

  • Help to create and disseminate insightful analysis of commissionable sales performance, highlighting significant variances to target and any commercial issues

  • Support on the monthly delivery of Billings and Cost reporting


  • Other ad hoc projects as required to support a dynamic business environment.

Key skills and experience

  • Educated to degree standard, achieving a 2:1 or above in a Finance/Business-related degree

  • Shows desire to operate in a specialist area and use knowledge to deliver results

  • Possesses and applies a good understanding of principles and concepts in own specialist area

  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge in order to develop greater independence in role

  • Ability to communicate on a daily basis with non-finance professionals and demonstrate ability to deal with potentially emotive topics

  • Must have strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel

  • Basic knowledge of SQL desirable

  • Communication – clearly and succinctly conveying information and ideas to individuals and groups in a variety of situations; communicating in a focused and compelling way that drives others’ thoughts and actions; engaging the audience to help them understand and retain the message.
