The Clinical Solutions team within Elsevier is singularly focused on helping healthcare professionals improve clinical outcomes through evidence-based care at every stage in the patient journey.

Our products and services are designed to help caregivers, professionals, and students improve practice, encourage broad and deep adoption of exceptional professional practice guidelines and promote a culture of quality across health organizations.

The Elsevier Clinical Solutions Research and Reference team delivers technology solutions across this full healthcare continuum, from clinical research data management to clinical reference to clinical decision support. As the Head of Product for this team, reporting directly to the Chief Product Officer: Clinical Solutions, you will lead and develop a team of product owners and managers of product owners responsible for several of our flagship products, a substantial portion of both Elsevier’s revenue, and significant people investment.

This pivotal, high-visibility role owns our research and reference product road map.   As a data-drive, customer-obsessed, and results oriented leader, you’ll manage a team responsible for identifying our customer and user’s needs, engaging on discovery, formulating delivery plans, and iterating on our hypothesis using evidence to make decisions along the way.

You’ll instill product best practices within the team, hire and develop the best product managers in healthcare, and continuously raise the bar with each feature released and goal met.


Establishes long term, robust customer relationships and engagement with customers.

Understands trends across other industries and is able to draw insights on convergence over the long-term.

Thoroughly understands competitive products and strategy, and how they influence customer decisions

Drives formulation of overall research/testing strategy and ensures product decisions are based on data.

Evaluates intangible and/or cross-business implications of strategic decisions.

Prioritizes hypothesis-driven product evaluation strategies, including AB testing for interactive products, while contributing to broader data-analyses strategies and platforms.

Develops go to market strategy and launch plans at the product level through coordination with stakeholders and is accountable for coordinated execution across product, sales, marketing and other customer facing teams.

Ensures ROI for go to market strategy, including revenue goals.

Works collaboratively with all necessary stakeholders to develop a clear product vision and strategy.

Evangelizes and champions the Reference and Research roadmap to all stakeholders at all levels

Understands emerging technologies and how they may be applied within the organization.

Experience and Education

Experience: 10+ years in technology Product Management, with at least 5 years spent as a people leader

Critical Experiences:

Ownership of a sizable product suite with investment decision and strategy accountability

Transformation associated with adopting of a high-performance culture 

Master’s degree in technical subject (Computer Science or Engineering discipline) or an MBA is required
