UX Designer II


The UX Designer II plays a key role in the evolution of the LexisNexis corporate website, with a focus on the creation and implementation of innovative, best-in-industry web experiences for current and prospective clients. The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of the latest web design and UX technology, methodologies, and best practices, as well as the ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities and to work effectively as part of a lean, versatile, global web design and development team.

The right individual for this position will energetically and enthusiastically take a hands-on approach to a broad variety of design projects; A/B and multivariate testing; site user interviews and research; and collaboration with project leads, designers, and coders to get things done efficiently. 


Additionally, this role requires someone who grasps immediately and can communicate expertly to team members and key LexisNexis leaders how projects will help the company achieve its goals, with a focus on trackable performance metrics tied to lead generation, product usage, customer satisfaction/engagement, and revenue. 


Primary Responsibilities:

1. Help lead the design evolution of the LexisNexis website through the eyes of customers' and prospects' journey and needs

2. Develop and perform relevant A/B and multivariate tests and user research to maximize site performance, with a focus on high-impact improvements defined by clearly measurable results

3. Own the technical design and delivery of a world-class, industry-leading web experience

4. During the concept phase of corporate site projects, propose feasible and high-quality design solutions based on web design and technology expertise

5. Manage the priorities, deliverables, and deadlines of a team of design contractors

6. Independently and in consultation with company stakeholders, identify business needs and problems/opportunities for improvement on the corporate website, effectively communicate those needs and their priority to appropriate team members, and ensure successful and trackable solutions are implemented

7. Perform front-end coding as necessary to meet project demands

8. Lead pre- and post-deployment QA testing of new, existing, and modified web components and templates

9. Ensure compatibility standards (e.g., responsive design) are met in the conception and implementation of site designs

10. Communicate progress and results of web projects on a consistent basis

11. Maintain knowledge of and communicate web design/technology innovations and evolving standards to ensure the LexisNexis corporate site continues to perform strongly and is viewed as a best-in-class website 

12. Partner with other members of the web design and development team to create, maintain, and ensure compliance with website standards and best practices

13. Develop documentation to increase the efficiency and productivity of designers across the team, including design reviews and enforcement of design rules



1. 2 or more years designing and developing web solutions for B2B companies

2. A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, web design & programming, or a related field

3. Innovative and forward-thinking web design and technology skills, with an eye toward the big picture as well as the value of details

4. Advanced knowledge of web design/UX tools, standards, and best practices; experience with browser Stack a plus

5. Experience managing internationally based design and development contractors; willing to work off hours on an as-needed basis to meet project goals and deadlines

6. Strong understanding of website/information architecture principles and frameworks

7. Experience working with a variety of CMS platforms (e.g., TeamSite, Telligent, Squiz)

8. Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite applications used in web design and development (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator)

9. Ability to write and adapt code and troubleshoot HTML, CSS, JavaScript (JQuery); knowledge of Angular JS and development on .NET platform a plus

10. Working knowledge of and intimate comfort level with scrum and agile methodologies  

11. Experience working with A/B testing and tools (e.g., Optimizely) and performing user interviews and research to develop actionable, high-impact recommendations

12. Experience running QA testing of web components and templates, especially cross-browser and cross-device compatibility tests

13. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse teams and individuals at all levels of an organization; ability to assess and gain agreement on priorities, manage conflicting demands or requests, improve design team efficiency and productivity, and provide reliable guidance on web design and technology

14. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
