The strategic technical solutions consultant is responsible for the implementation of LexisNexis Risk Solutions' products via all delivery channels (e.g., XML, Web Services, hosted web application, hosted IVR) for clients across all Risk verticals as well as providing third-level escalation support to create, sustain, and enhance client-generated revenue. The technical solutions consultant will have the ability to assess non-standard requirements and, when appropriate, manage and deliver customized solutions within the context of a complete project engagement. These activities may include providing expert technical and business process-related consulting services directly to clients, specific support for, and liaison with the following: sales, product, and support teams; other relevant internal staff; and post-production transition support. The strategic technical solutions consultant should demonstrate acumen in the relevant LexisNexis products (including software and hardware as applicable), knowledge of common industry practices and tools, awareness of market trends, and possess high proficiency with tools, processes, and methods required to execute duties as described above. The strategic technical solutions consultant will represent the team in targeted meetings. The strategic technical solutions consultant should also have skills to mentor less experienced or knowledgeable team members and cultivate best-practices that enhance the knowledge and delivery capability of the team.


1. Provides technical integration and consulting services directly to external clients, sales teams, and other support staff for financial services, collections, healthcare, government, law enforcement and insurance verticals for business services' products.

2. Share expert product knowledge, develop best practices, and create original technical examples using industry-standard applications to advance implementation completion and enhance team capabilities. Conduct analysis and apply problem-solving skills to determine root cause of issues. Collaborate with, engage and escalate to appropriate resources when necessary to get issues addressed. Own correspondence with Sales and client until issue is resolved. 

3. Provides installation, implementation and configuration support, while keeping implementation project plans up-to-date. 

4. Communicates technical terms to internal and external clients of varying levels of technical understanding.

5. Utilizes technical expertise in providing 3rd-level XML support to clients. 

6. Conducts technical presentations and product demonstrations regarding integration with LexisNexis Risk Solutions' products. 

7. Participates in departmental projects that improve the productivity of the team.

8. Completes required training and skill development to support the client base, individual developmental needs, team objectives, department goals, and company initiatives. 

9. Maintains a detailed understanding of databases, programming, search technologies, and web technologies. 

10. Develops a consultative sales style which incorporates technical skills while delivering business value. Stays focused on revenue and remains willing to take the initiative to ensure that LexisNexis wins the decision.

11. Continues building on best practices for improved client satisfaction, while looking for opportunities and submitting ideas to improve team effectiveness and productivity in working with Sales, clients, and Web Service solutions.

12. Presents statistics and other useful information on small XML "batch" test jobs to that will assist Sales with winning the business.

13. Provides trends and ideas to management and product owners to consider in future products.

14. Represents the XML Consultants team in targeted meetings.

15. Serves as a mentor for the technical solution consultants.

1. Education: BA/BS degree or equivalent experience in a related field. 

2. Travel: Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time.

6. Industry Experience: 10+ years of industry experience.

8. Leadership: Expert-level ability to effectively set direction, aligns constituencies, and motivate others, while demonstrating vision and ability to lead others. 

9. Planning & Organization: Expert-level organizational and project management skills. 

10. Presentation Skills & Communication: Expert-level oral and written communication skills; must be able to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Expert-level ability to deliver client presentations and performance analysis. 

11. Problem Solving & Judgment: Expert-level analytical and problem solving skills as well as the ability to understand and think analytically about complex business problems. Developed troubleshooting skills. 

12. Product Knowledge: Advanced demonstration of up-to-date and in-depth product knowledge and exposure to a software environment involving hands-on technical problem solving or technical implementations with clients. 

13. Relationship Building: Advanced relationship building skills and the ability to collaborate and interact effectively with internal and external clients including but not limited to sales, product management, engineering, network operations, and client support.

14. Results Orientation / Execution: Expert-level time management skills and strict adherence to timelines, with the ability to operate within a structured approach and to deliver results. Possesses the ability to prioritize and handle multiple requests concurrently. Self-Motivated. 

15. Teamwork: Expert-level ability to work in a team environment, by soliciting input and feedback. Deals effectively with conflict.

16. Other: Working knowledge and/or specialized understanding of HTML, XML, Web Services, and other Internet-based technologies. In-depth experience in writing XML Code using Web Service toolkits (e.g. SoapUI, Microsoft .NET, JavaBeans, etc.) Experience in deploying Web Services based applications to production servers.
