The Role

The Senior Programme Manager will have the responsibility of developing, agreeing and delivering high value HR change initiatives across multiple divisions within RELX Group. The projects will originate and drive service improvement within the HR function but have significant impact across the 30,000 individuals in RELX. The work will encompass the entire end to end change lifecycle from concept to realisation and continuous improvement.


This role is responsible for enabling an excellent employee HR experience which drives the achievement of key business objectives and targets.  The mandate for this position is to work with the people leadership team, senior business leaders and key HR/operational stakeholders to identify and enable improvement across the HR people, process, systems and third party landscape.


The role will report to the Director of People Analytics and Operational Excellence.


Key Accountabilities
  • Owns the design, planning, execution and controlling of strategic projects with strong analytical focus and understanding of the employee experience and journey.
  • Drives the problem solving process: frames problems, guides analytical modelling, and through analysis provides insights into solutions. Uses SMEs and gains buy in to potential solutions.
  • Facilitates meetings and workshops with all the levels of the organization.
  • Effectively manages the outcomes driven by the project and is capable of steering the business in a new direction.
  • Mobilise and manage a team within the project structure but also in a matrix structure across multiple functions in the business. Expect to lead a small team of project resources but a large team of matrix SMEs and working group participants.
  • Coaches other team members both in direct line and matrix.
  • Build, maintain and foster successful relationships with key functional and operational teams at all levels up to c-suite across the business.
  • Working with others, is able to define the change and engagement roadmap and execute a people orientated approach which embodies best in class change management across 30,000 people.
Ideal profile
  • Significant experience in both business improvement (analysis, process, design, business case) and project/programme management including change management skillsets.
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills with proven experience in developing strong relationships and in successfully interfacing and negotiating with all organizational levels.
  • Ability to manage mixed teams of both direct and matrix reports across a complex organisational landscape.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills – ability to manage key business leaders up to c-suite level.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Outstanding communication skills – written and verbal at the most senior level.
  • Proven record in succeeding where the strategy is not yet developed: innovation, knowledge, persistence and flexibility are an absolute must to succeed.
  • Collaborative decision-making and work style and strongly results-driven.
  • Extraordinary integrity.
  • Excellent business acumen and commercial focus.
  • Experience in shared service centre design and mobilisation/HR systems and/or other HR/people or similar transformation programmes is a bonus.
Qualifications
Minimum: Bachelor's Degree 

Must have at least 5 years of consulting experience
