Responsible for the definition and successful implementation of new product solutions to include complex, long-term,  data driven/system to system projects, major enhancements and customer specific solutions that drive revenue within assigned business. Work directly with business stakeholders, elicits, clarifies and translates business requirements into documentation and conceptual design/workflow resulting in actionable deliverables supporting technology and quality assurance teams.   Consult and collaborate with engineering development teams on the design and functionality of product solutions to deliver high quality, innovative products while leveraging existing infrastructure to reduce costs and development timeframes.  Create customer facing technical documentation as well as internal Product training documentation and presentations. Primary liaison between the business stakeholders and technology teams, facilitating problem resolution, change management and ultimately assuring successful product implementation.  
 
Responsibilities
  1. Facilitate the development of market and/or customer specific opportunities by defining business requirements with product stakeholders (verticals product management and/or customers) for new product solutions, multi-product solutions and major enhancements to existing products. 
  2. Act as primary liaison between business stakeholders and engineering.  Write business requirement documents including overall solution, data definition, process flow, vendor interface, account/product configuration, support tools, management reports, billing, taxes and consumer disclosure.
  3. Lead discussions with project team to clearly articulate the result required to meet the business or customer need.
  4. Independently facilitate JAD sessions between technology and stakeholders to ensure requirements and designs closely aligned.
  5. Perform Project Management responsibilities on implementation projects as needed.
  6. Superior project leadership skills with the ability to work effectively through others and interface persuasively across the organization.
  7. Strong relationship development and team collaboration skills involving the proven ability to interact and collaborate effectively with key internal and external individuals as well as the ability to work independently. 
  8. Contributes to the creation of and the ongoing evolution of NPE best practices
  9. Consult and collaborate with engineering development teams on the design and functionality of product solutions to deliver high quality, innovative products while leveraging existing infrastructure to reduce costs and development timeframes.
  10. Consult with business stakeholders, legal and compliance departments to identify data sources, and use, incorporated into product solutions and ensure proper compliance with federal and state laws and regulations, contractual obligations and corporate policy.
  11. Coordinate with analytics teams to incorporate modeling / scoring solutions into product solutions.
  12. Proficient in XML and Web Services protocols.
  13. Collaborate with third party data providers to define required interfaces and integrate new data sources into product solutions.
  14. Oversee multiple, complex project initiatives during the product development life cycle to deliver consistent and complete implementations. 
  15. Communicate with management and leadership teams on status and issues for resolution. 
  16. Understand business priority across multiple projects and vertical markets.  Coordinate with project management office to define project schedules based on business priority.  Communicate to set expectations for deliverables, delivery timeframe and performance.
  17. Manage initiatives through development, quality assurance, customer test and production, including project phasing where applicable to build in complexity over time and facilitate speed to market.
  18. Create technical documentation and specifications required for the use and support of the product solution by customers and internal groups.
  19. Develop and conduct internal training (i.e. product management, client engagement, customer support, customer accounting groups.
  20. Demonstrate exceptional knowledge of infrastructure, products, solution capabilities and process related to new and implemented product solutions and customer specific solutions.
  21. Mentor others on team and in business unit on product / system functionality and best practices for product design / implementation 
Qualifications
  • BS, BA, BBA or equivalent experience; Risk Management Business/Marketing/Mgmt. Information Technology desired
  • Minimum of 7+ years Product Management/Information Technology/Business Analysis required
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.  Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, concise manner.  Demonstrated ability to present information appropriate to the level of the audience.
  • Professionalism and strong interpersonal and leadership skills including the ability to communicate technical issues and/or concepts to both technical and non-technical people.
  • Ability to influence without authority.
  • Act as a leader within the NPE team to support and actively cultivate colleagues
  • Demonstrated expertise with problem analysis and solving.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage changing and multiple priorities.
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to work and to meet deadlines in a fast paced and challenging environment.
  • Ability to achieve and maintain positive rapport with diverse customers to give them high quality, responsive service.
  • Ability to work independently while keeping management appropriately informed.
  • Strong understanding of business principles and typical business practices, including the insurance industry. 
  • Ability to adapt to new environments, adjusts to situations or demands, and function effectively within them with a minimum of confusion or loss of productivity.
  • Ability to adapt to various communication methods including telephone, in-person, email, Webinars, video conferencing, including talking with company members located in foreign countries if needed.
  • Ability to thrive in high pressure, multi-tasking work environment with many, fluctuating deadlines.
  • Work is not routine – each work assignment requires learning new, specific information and being creative in developing new solutions.
