Job Summary


This position combines software development skills with operational knowledge to build a newcloud-native platform for scaling our global data and analytics applications. You will be to be part of agrowing team of engineers working to create this platform, which will support the real-time data
processing and advanced analytics products being built by dozens of engineers and data scientists.

The position participates in the design, construction, and operation of our system, network, and application infrastructure.


Experience and education


- BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent work experience
- Demonstrable experience

Key Responsibilities:

-  Working as part of a cross-functional team to implement internal applications
- Understand Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) concepts and implementation methods
- Work closely with other teams to optimize the company’s data and product infrastructure
-Participate in the design and implementation of high volume data storage and processing
- Design, implement, and improve continuous integration pipelines
-Resolve basic technical issues as necessary
-Task automation
-Diagnose complex system performance problems using dumps, traces, or other diagnostics
- Implement and continually improve application and system monitoring.
-Review code and make suggestions for improvement
- Resolve complex technical issues as necessary
- Manage and encourage new ideas from staff to foster improvements and innovation
- Participate in on-call rotations


Key Technical Skills:


- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of AWS services and the ability to architect scalable,
cloud-native applications
- Experience designing systems that are optimized for throughput, scale and low latency
- Working knowledge of data systems and design

Other Technical Skills:

- Working knowledge of utilizing REST APIs
- Linux server administration
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of at least one high-level scripting language, such as
Ruby, Python, or Go
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of configuration management tools, such as puppet,
ansible, salt, etc...
- Thorough understanding of major system components used in system administration (i.e.,
storage systems, Linux kernel, TCP/IP, etc.).
- Working knowledge of best practices for Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment
- Ability to clearly explain (written, and orally) technical issues to a non-technical audience
