User Researcher (Senior) manages and conducts qualitative research (field studies, focus groups, interviews) to learn how Researchers work, how they decide when to interact with our products, and what they do with the research information they retrieve.
 
If you join us on this role, you will be responsible for designing, executing and delivering complete research programs. To do so, you will guide and facilitate stakeholders in developing a clear understanding and empathy for end users, making sense of existing research and commissioning or conducting additional research.
Specifically, from you will be expected to:
  • take the lead to agree and manage research requirements with internal stakeholders;
  • guide and manage other User Researchers to apply appropriate research methodologies;
  • supervise the development of detailed research project plans;
  • both conduct research tests without any supervision and manage small research teams to deliver user research results;
  • analyze test results;
  • synthesize test outcomes into conclusions and recommendations;
  • prepare presentation deliverables;
  • present deliverables to stakeholders for discussion and approval;
  • initiate, nurture and grow (internal & external) stakeholder relationships; take complete, end-to-end responsibility for delivering complex research programs, involving mutliple stakeholders;
  • contribute to the team methodology development;
  • contribute to internal communication goals;
  • contribute to tool and infrastructure development.
 
 
Your responsibilities on this role will be following:
 
Manage stakeholders
  • Manage multiple stakeholder relationships end-to-end, from project initiation to final delivery;
  • be the primary role accountable for project results and success
Manage user research process
  • Contribute to select and apply appropriate research (both qualitative & quantitative) methodologies, develop detailed project planning and research deliverables;
  • supervise User Researchers in complex research projects
Conduct user research
  • Take the lead in conducting user interviews without any supervision;
  • manage User Researchers to conduct user research
Manage analysis and reporting
  • Take the lead/supervise in preparing analysis, conclusions, recommendations;
  • be the primary accountable role for presentation to stakeholders;
  • ensure timely and accurate reporting of results
Contribute to development of CDI methodologies, tools and infrastructure
  • From a position of accumulated experience and domain expertise, take the lead in research methodologies improvement, assessing needs for additional tools and infrastructure improvement;
 
 This role reports to Customer Delivery and Innovation Director and it is based in Amsterdam.
 
 
Your background will be following mix of experience, education and skills:
  • PhD/postdoc in analytical discipline; some experience with either research policy issues (for example, Open Access) or with university Research Office activities desirable;
  • 1-2 years experience applying user research methodologies (for instance, in-depth interviews/surveys);
  • experience with  independently designing, conducting, analysing and presenting user research to answer complex research needs; 
  • well-versed in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, MaxQDA ; 
  • comfortable operating within a multinational environment;
  • comfortable operating within a high-pressure, demanding environment;
  • comfortable delivering results within tight deadlines;
  • comfortable with managing multiple stakeholders simultaneously;
  • comfortable with managing multiple, shifting priorities;
  • fluency in spoken and written English, other languages (especially Chinese) desirable.
