Senior pricing Analyst - Cardiff


Basic job function
To review and analyze pricing information about our customers and products and to review published or disclosed prices of competitors in the market place.  Develop pricing options to meet competitive opportunities and provide input for profitability projections and corporate pricing strategy.  May maintain and analyze price reference documentation, and to make recommendations that will facilitate optimal pricing decisions to be made by Pricing, Marketing and Sales teams.


Accountabilities -
•Partner with other functional areas to develop and implement product price strategies including segment strategies for the various markets and/or channels
•Develop and drive data-driven pricing guidelines/tools for business units
•Develop pricing market research surveys and review results to identify pricing recommendations.
•Perform pricing analysis for pricing initiatives that may also include setting price, determine customer specific discounts and identify product conversion opportunities.  Assimilate and perform data and statistical analysis from multiple sources
•May support market planning organizations to ensure pricing, billing and contracting alignment utilizing the pricing and contracts tool (PCT)
•Develop tools in SQL and Excel to help guide sales team in setting strategic prices in the market, implement pricing improvement programs, and track financial impact.
•Analyze market dynamics, pricing trends, market opportunities, operating and sales margins in order to develop reports, procedures and tools for pricing and quoting.
•Maintain price structures and ensure consistent tracking of pricing.
•Take initiative in identifying and resolving issues around pricing
•May coordinate proposal development with the sales team and management
•May assist in the development of implementation plans including tasks and timelines
•Perform other duties as assigned

 

Qualification -
Bachelor Degree required
Solid background working within Business, Marketing,  or Finance
Excellent analytical skills – detailed/working knowledge of advanced analytical and statistical methods
Knowledge of pricing principles and pricing modeling
Knowledge of the software/technology industry
Strong communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills including the ability to influence across the organization.
Advanced/Expert computer skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access, and other database systems
