TEC001NO Requisition #

Whatever the challenge, you can be certain that members of our community are working to solve it, and to improve health, society and the environment. We are providing the scientific, medical and research communities of the world with information and technology that empower discovery.

Our challenge in that mission is to deliver and build a new greenfield quote to cash service for use globally across Elsevier. We have an incredibly wide and diverse application landscape meaning across the quote to cash estate we are adopting an API first approach and are regularly challenged to solve complex business critical problems.

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to be based in our Oxford office to complete our existing team who is capable of making an impact.

This is an opportunity to work on a key strategic platform in a well-established and respected global organisation. You will be a key member of our team working closely with individuals and business units all across Elsevier.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and deliver reliable working software into an automated delivery pipeline

  • Contribute to the success of the team, promoting continuous improvement and best practice

  • Coach and mentor junior team members allowing them to benefit from your experience

Technical Skills

Our technical landscape is hybrid in nature. Therefore we’re not expecting you to have experience in everything we use and instead we’re looking for someone with at least 2 years hands on development experience in at least one the following technologies.

  • Java (OpenJDK)

  • JavaScript (VueJS)

  • Kafka

  • Salesforce

  • .NET

  • Kubernetes

  • AWS

Your most important skill will be in learning new technologies and making a positive contribution to the team. We’re looking for self-starters who are naturally curious and thrive on delivering well thought out and effective solutions.

Join our team

As part of our team, you can help shape the future of knowledge. By joining a great place to work and outstanding colleagues, you can contribute to tools that will help clinicians improve treatments, that will guide researchers in ground breaking discoveries, and that will help train the innovators of the future. You can help transform an already advanced business and transform your career at the same time.
