Senior Business Analyst

This is an exciting new opportunity for a Senior BA to be part of a global transformation; the Mercury Quote to Cash program, is a major cross-company, multi-year initiative for Elsevier aimed at transforming and modernizing the customer experience and business processes for Elsevier’s most strategic business models.


Working into the Mercury Business team, the role will focus on defining to be processes and requirements, documenting user stories and acceptance criteria and supporting user acceptance. The role holder will directly support the activities of the Mercury Product Managers and will collaborate closely with colleagues in Technology and Change Management.


Mercury operates in an Agile environment and the candidate must have experience of bringing business analysis skills to bear within an Agile context.


We would be interested in speaking to candidates with the following skills and experience:

5+ years of IT business analyst experience
BS/BA degree in relevant discipline or equivalent experience required; ISEB-qualified Business Analyst required
Quote to Cash experience a plus but not essential
Broad understanding of software development methodologies, platforms, tools, and languages.
Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
Moderate facilitation skills; ability to facilitate workshops.
Knowledge and experience with BPDM 2.0 process modelling.
Experience with process modelling in Bizagi a plus, but not essential.
Strong communication skills that allow for effective communication across all levels of the organization.
Written communication skills including process documentation.
Business requirements gathering.
Understanding of the role of BA in the full software development life cycle.
Experience in gathering business requirements and translating them into user stories/functional specifications on complex or large projects.
Previous experience of working in an agile environment and using recognized development methodology; e.g., Agile, SCRUM, and KANBAN.
