Job Summary

 

The ‘Senior Architect, Identity Access Management’ position will serve as a focal point within the Shared Platform & Capabilities organization within Elsevier Research Technology.  This position provides guidance on technical direction, architecture & agile best practices, overseeing the planning, design, development and implementation of our SSO and Federation identity platform.

 

Key Tasks

  • Work as part of a highly collaborative, cross-functional, agile technology development team to develop & enhance Elsevier’ Identity Access Management solution.
  • Play a leading role in architectural decision-making. Help to build consensus in the team around architectural choices.
  • Work closely with engineering partner organizations (architecture, devops, QE), encourage best practices & apply software engineering principles at each stage of the development lifecycle
  • Successfully implement development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews, while guiding the team through incremental improvement.
  • Work with Product Managers to ensure software meets user requirements
  • Resolve complex technical issues as necessary.
  • Build a culture of responsibility for software after shipping and throughout its lifecycle
  • Support and mentor more junior team members
  • Help to grow the identity team by assisting with the recruitment of other developers and team members


Skills / Experience

  • Core Java Development experience (Java, J2EE, JDBC, XML, JSP/Servlet, HTML)
  • Experience with Single Sign On (SSO) and Federation technologies (SAML, Oauth2, OpenID Connect, AD/LDAP, Kerberos).
  • Experience with managing SSO/Federation integration Tools (PingIdentity, CA Siteminder, Tivoli/ISecurity Access Manager, OneLogin, Okta)
  • Should have some experience with XML, scripting languages (Perl, javascript, C#, Java, .Net, Powershell etc…)
  • Hands on experience working with UNIX, Linux, SQL and RDBMS technologies
  • AWS Development/Deployment Experience
  • Experience with agile engineering practices such as TDD, Pair Programming, Continuous Integration, automated testing and deployment, Scrum, Kanban
  • Experience of large-scale software engineering involving co-ordination across multiple teams and systems
