Job Title: Sales Manager - Launches

Reports to: Event Director / Commercial Director

Based at: Richmond, Surrey, UK

The Commercial Team has an opportunity for a creative and enthusiastic Sales Manager to join us in working on developing and launching new exciting events in a variety of formats.  The ideal individual to join our team will absolutely love working in a small agile team and love being part of the creation of what will develop into market-leading events of the future. 


Based in our Richmond office you will have the opportunity to develop your career within fast-paced, international environment, working closely with event teams, business development and specialists across the company to deliver new event launches. International travel forms part of the role.


The Role:

  • The key responsibilities of the Launch Sales Manager include:
  • Selling across a range of products i.e. exhibitions, magazine, digital, awards & events sponsorship
  • Actively seeking out and following through new exhibitor / sponsor  prospects from all relevant sources (industry websites, competitive events, trade journals etc) and building strong customer databases
  • Developing robust sales strategies and deploying a consultative, value-led sales approach 
  • Preparation of annual show specific sales plans 
  • Generating revenues to hit ambitious targets across a range of revenue streams (space, digital and sponsorship products) 
  • Building and maintaining customer relationships at a high level
  • Building and managing sales pipelines and developing high quality client packages / proposals

Ideal candidate profile:
Strong sales experience in a relevant environment (exhibitions, publishing, conferences etc)
Proven track record in consultative selling and objection handling  
A highly driven, tenacious and enthusiastic sales professional
Creativity and initiative to negotiate / secure new business and launch new initiatives
Ability to build strong relationships with customers at all levels
Passion and enthusiasm for testing new and different products 
Customer-centric and flexible approach – appetite for working at a fast pace 
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentations and report writing  
A willingness to travel internationally and work in a global team of professionals building effective relationships with partners and suppliers 
Strong interpersonal skills at all levels
Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and prioritise a heavy workload
