Sales Manager Data Services


 

Role Description


 

This individual must be a high-performing sales manager responsible for managing a national sales team to drive accelerated growth in sales revenue. The successful candidate will be required to develop and implement best practice sales methodologies and drive maximum revenue and profitability growth through positive planning, direction and management of all sales personnel as well as developing key strategic relationships within the industry.


 

Key Duties and Accountabilities

 

Sales

  • Creating and executing sales strategies to expand customer base
  • Preparing sales forecasts and monthly reporting requirements, including explanation of variances and development of contingency plans
  • Assume responsibility for business unit new sales targets across solutions, including monitoring of individual and team targets


Leadership

  • Utilise their leadership skills to motivate and maximize employee productivity
  • Develop personnel and foster an achievement-orientated culture based on continuous learning principles where employees are motivated and rewarded for both individual and team contributions
  • Assist sales team to develop account plans to deliver on financial targets and close high value deals 


Operational Execution

  • Manage staff resources effectively including their individual performance and sales effectiveness
  • Overall responsibility for sales related administration functions, processes and other support functions to drive business efficiencies and customer satisfaction
  • Develop and implement best practice sale processes to track and qualify leads, productivity and drive sales conversion rates
  • Work with retention manager to ensure customers are successfully handed over to account managers


Other

  • Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of competition activity
  • Work effectively with the business development and marketing teams to drive new product launches, effective pricing strategies, sales and marketing collateral, and other key strategic initiatives
  • Maintain relationships with international LBUs to drive customer synergies across the group

Qualifications


  • 5+ years of relevant experience and expertise within industry at a management level
  • University degree or relevant sales / management training
  • Functional knowledge of sales and negotiation processes
  • Financial acumen – understand P&L
  • Numerical ability
  • Computer literate
  • Excellent writing & communication skills
