Sales Manager UK

Location:London or Cardiff

 

Basic Job Function:
This position exists to provide leadership and direction to a team of Business Development Executives in addition to strategically positioning LexisNexis Risk Solutions to meet company objectives by increasing new sales revenue, growing existing business through retention and further market penetration.  This role is responsible for providing effective leadership to several Business Development Executives in order to execute effective sales and account business plans to drive growth for LexisNexis Risk Solutions.

 

Accountabilities:
50% Exceed revenue targets through effective sales strategies. 
• Develop and implement effective account/sector/territory plan strategies to provide focus and maximize revenue growth. 
• Work closely with market planners/business leaders to coordinate strategy in respective area(s) and ensure the voice of the market(s) is include in investment and development roadmaps. 
• Develop high value relationships at the Executive level with customers and prospects.
• Demonstrate market expertise and a deep understanding of customer’s organization to drive customer decisions toward company’s solutions and products.
• Ensure the sales approach and go-to-market activities within the region differentiate LexisNexis Risk Solutions to the client by providing a consultative, expert approach, leading with market insight, thereby providing significant value within the sales engagement.

30% People Management
• Lead a team of Business Development Executives to ensure revenue goals are exceeded and opportunity is maximized and captured 
• Manage sales activities, provide direction and hold team members accountable for delivering results. 
• Management responsibilities include hiring, coaching, developing, managing performance.
• Create, develop and retain a World Class Sales Team and Culture.

10% Manage Business Portfolio
• Prepare accurate Sales Forecasts.
• Conduct Regular Business reviews
• Manage Expenses Appropriately.

10% effectively manage internal and external relationships to achieve business goals. 
• Champion interests of team with internal stakeholders to secure appropriate levels of support to serve customers. 
• Assist in brand/market awareness and opportunity development by delivering subject matter expertise and thought leadership to the market via forums, conferences, panels and PR activities.
• Facilitate activities between clients, sales organization, market planning, customer operations and executives to complete strategic selling process.

 

Qualifications:
• BA/BS or equivalent experience.
• Significant demonstrated successful sales experience in solutions-oriented sales environments.  Extensive prior management experience.
• Strong track record of exceeding results.
• Prior experience managing outside sales teams.
• Prior experience mentoring and coaching outside sales teams.
• Effective sales forecasting.
• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
• Solid negotiation skills. Strong leadership and teambuilding skills.
• Ability to effectively network both internally & externally.
• Proven ability to sell complex products to new customer prospects.
• A self-starter who can work in an innovative environment, manage change and do what is required to deliver exceptional performance.
• Must be proficient in MS Office applications with particular strength using MS Excel.
