Reed MIDEM is recruiting a Sales Director TV Markets (M/F)

 Permanent contract – Based in London (UK)

 


Join Reed MIDEM’s dynamic UK-based sales team and represent the world’s leading international television markets for content creation and distribution:  

 

 


The Sales Director will have responsibility for managing and developing the existing portfolio of UK and Irish television entertainment clients, including exhibitor, visitor, advertising and sponsorship sales for all Reed MIDEM’s television tradeshows and conferences.

In association with the Television Division’s Sales Director, the UK Sales Director will be in charge of developing and implementing a specific sales approach for the UK and Ireland, based on the overall Television Division’s growth strategy. This will include the ability to define potential growth areas, prioritize segments, identify key influencers/VIPs and develop these relationships, collaborate with trade associations/government bodies, and develop an operational marketing strategy, in collaboration with the marketing team in Paris.


The Sales Director will have a clear understanding of clients’ needs and will build strong relationships within the industry leading to proactively identifying and proposing growth opportunities for clients through a consultative style.


As the head of one of Reed MIDEM’s key  territories, the Sales Director will be asked to contribute to the strategic development of the events  and  may have some additional  transversal  responsibilities (ie: lead sales on smaller events, lead on a specific segment, lead on global key account or new product).


In addition to representing the world’s leading television markets MIPTV and MIPCOM, the Sales Director will manage UK sales for MIPDoc, MIP Junior, MIP Formats, MIP Cancun and MIP China.



Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Establishing a strategic sales plan
  • Identifying and maintaining a sales pipeline of existing and prospect clients
  • Reaching growth targets per event
  • Providing regular reporting to the TV Division Sales Director
  • Providing regular and accurate forecasting
  • Creating and developing quality integrated sales proposals adapted to client’s needs and budget including bespoke powerpoint presentations
  • Taking part in several industry events throughout the year to understand the trends, network, meet new contacts, and increase the TV shows visibility and profile.
  • Interacting with the Reed MIDEM team to exchange and recommend new ideas or projects.
  • Providing customer support and an excellent customer experience.
  • Managing a team of three salespeople (set targets, coach, motivate, etc…)
  • Responsibility for the growth of the Sales Director’s own client portfolio

 

 Job Requirements:


Candidates will be required to show their dynamism, have a passion for selling premium products, the ability to think of ways of developing business by creating and launching new products and services, be team oriented, results driven, well organised, and have the capacity to understand and adapt to different cultures.


In addition, the Sales Director must have

 

  • A clear understanding of the international television and digital content industry.
  • At least 10 years of sales or business development experience.
  • The ability to propose multiple solutions adapted to clients’ objectives (exhibition space, sponsorship, print and online advertising, street marketing, visitor sales…).
  • Proven team management skills with the ability to motivate the sales team in the face of ambitious targets.
  • Excellent customer management/relations skills.
  • An excellent track record in growing revenues within a business unit.
  • Experience in working in a satellite sales office.

Travel:

Based in London, the Sales Director will be expected to undertake extensive travel within the UK and Ireland, attend MIPTV and MIPCOM in Cannes twice a year, with the possibility of being present at MIP Cancun and MIP China Hangzhou. Frequent trips to Paris to attend team meetings will also be involved.



Salary Package:
  • Basic salary package £60K-£80K depending on experience.
  • Results-based bonus of up to 30% of Basic Package
  • At-show per dieum
  • 25 days holiday per year
